TV Production/ Channel for the ZIM-BANGLADESH Series

Post by aqeelsamar »

Dear folks,

I need to know the channel/ production company which will cover Bangladesh Zimbabwe series in Zimbabwe this August. Plus if I can have the contact number of the channel and name/ title of the right person to contact it would be great help.

Thanks,

Aqeel

Ten Sports have covered Zimbabwe home games for the last few years, I'd imagine they will be covering this series as well.

Nice commentary aqeelsamar, that soundbite sounds good (I can only understand the English bits though :)). If you plan on doing radio commentary for this series may I make a suggestion? If you could provide a link to your stream here on this forum and were able to provide a brief score update in English at the end of each over I can guarantee you would get a few listeners. It's sometimes difficult to watch a live video stream (at work, late at night, etc) so an audio alternative would be very welcome.

If you want to move into television commentary a Zimbabwe series is probably not a bad time to try your luck. If you were actually at the venue and made it known that you are a radio commentator from Pakistan (and were willing to do it for free), I reckon you could sweet talk your way into a guest stint behind the microphone. If Hugo Ribatika can do it... ;)

Aqeel bhai...mubarakaan. You reminded me of my Pathankot days when it was possible to listen to Pak radio and commentary of Pak-Zim tests. I love urdu and very well remember the commentary when Hasan Raza made his test debut at Faislabad. "Tamashaiyo ka bhari huzoom...." Being a biased Zim fan i only remember a fighting p'ship b/w Houghton and Campbell and an initial fiery burst by Matambanadzo-Mbangwa in that lost test.

Keep up the good work. May be hope for another "Harsha ki khoj" show on ESPN :)

Taylor, I am really glad & happy that u listened this sound bit. Your suggestion regarding radio commentary in english through a stream sounds really workable and useful. Regarding my presence at the venue, in some of the matches i was there, most of the UAE ones, but as not much cricket is happening here in Pakistan, thus many overseas matches are only covered through studios (by the way i.e. a business secret :) anyway, as the matches covered from the venues have taken place after gaps, thus i had mostly missed the networking option which you are referring to, i agree that such networking beats anything, especially for stepping in, still the response from you is encouraging and i will keep on trying to make inroads for the coming series, if not then for the pk-zim series, thanks :)

and Dr. Situ, your following of pak radio commentary & your memory is really commendable, and what a pleasant surprise i.e. to me the way you commented. yes sir, i will keep my fingers crossed for sure :) thanks
