If Nyauchi hasn't booked his spot after that effort today then I don't know. Brilliant stuff.
Ya, he’d be in my team.

Alex Falao has really improved in the last few months. Beat the bat a number of times today. Still bowls a bit full at times but he is only 21 and will improve. Hope he goes on the emerging tour to the UK in the summer.

I still cringe at the fact we use two badges 😄
We've got the traditional bird badge for the national side, yet for some reason any 'A' side or junior side has to wear that awful badge made by Chingokas wife in 2005

Newman isn't in the squad for the second game. I was hoping we see Nyauchi, Newman, Chivanga, Evans and Gwandu over the 2 games so that they can't give us rubbish excuses for their selections.

It is clear as day that Nyauchi deserves to play. He bowled a really long opening spell as well which if they look at it strategically could allow them to play a 8-3 combination against England with Raza and hopefully a fit Williams being the other bowlers.

I've got a feeling Evans is going to be a casualty here, and not just in the short term.
Selectors clearly don't value tight lines and length, which i find just bizarre. Its all about pressure from both ends. Anyone can bowl a good ball. If you're not bowling tight have something else major in your arsenal like height, speed or swing.

Why did Matt Welch get called to this squad and then not play? Does that mean he's out of the other squad?

Nyamhuri must be carrying an injury because he's a chosen one. He's got lots of potential and surprisingly quick for a small guy, but if I were to pick a 3rd seamer it would be Nyauchi or Evans. They've got similar stats I think, but Evans shades it for me, he's just got more control. Nyamhuri would be interesting in English swing conditions though.

There's not much in it with a few players now, but that's not an excuse not to pick the best guy. If it's millimetres between them for selection it's also millimetres between winning and losing.

Evans will be the casualty.

Bennett
Burl
Curran
Ervine
Jonno
NW
Williams

Are the guys ahead of him in the pecking order. They’re also interested in Higgins.

Then there’s the likes of Faraz and Raza plus the interest in old knackers, if those guys are part of this particular pecking order also

It’s unfortunate for him that four of those guys came to prominence while he was injured, but that’s the way the game is. He’ll need some very stand out figures next season to force himself into the reckoning.

Durham showing what happens if you have tight bowling from both ends

No need to play at that by Bennet

Exactly!
Durham's innings started like this, they were extremely lucky to survive the good balls, but then we bowled a pile of shit in-between.
