To kill them both Newman and Trevor must play 1 test match each.
Sheesh. I mean I think they are both over rated too, but I wouldn’t go that far!

- This, except I would have Williams at 4 and BT at 6.

- Brian Bennett will have to put in a shift with the ball, unless if Willo can bowl again?

- Tsiga's keeping is untidy and he hasn't done anything of note with the bat. Hope he turns things around because I like him.

- Evans should be the 3rd seamer, but Newman will do. I'm really keen to see how he goes.

I think they have made it clear that Nyamhuri is there for development purposes only. So perhaps he is developing in the nets and such. Some what of a team mascot.

Come to think of it, I don't think Sammons has ever picked an 8 - 3 lineup before. He always plays 4 bowlers and 7 batters. So, like some are suggesting, Nelch may have to make way to accomodate BT. I hope I'm wrong on this.

The test we played this year against Afghanistan where we lost by like 70 runs had 8 batsmen. Raza bowled 42 overs that test

NZ also has quite a few left handers. Conway, Ravindra, Latham, Nicholls, Santner if I remember correctly.

If hes there for development purposes why name him?
Nothing stopping him practicing with the squad under the watchful eye of the bowling coach.

Makes it look like there are more than 3 opinions on selection right now. That's why there is so much confusion. I actually really rate Newman but it just isn't making sense

I agree with this too.
Nothing stopping someone being in the nets and with the team.
They probably should be identifying I few young ones a series to do this.
