Fantastic day for Zimbabwe. Just so happy for Brad Evans, he is such a good red ball bowler and very deservingly gets his place in the side.. after so many struggles and Injuries. Has truly shown his worth over the last few months.
Good stuff from Curran and Welch..
I was quite excited to see Naqvi finally making his debut, but I guess there is no place to fit him in atm. Obviously BT is not going to be able to keep wickets for the duration of a test match and that makes sense so they have to include Tsiga and other than that all players select themselves.
Only opportunity for now could be if Sikki decides to focus only on white ball cricket and retire from tests then Naqvi can take his place. Although I would like to see Naqvi in the plans for 2027 WC as well.

Great first day by Zimbabwe boy Evans helping to clean up the tail which has always been our biggest challenge after getting a good start with the ball. We need to bat out today. No pressure at all.
Did BT really pull out the the ramp shot. Gotta search for the highlights I missed that.

To date 19 people have committed suicide listening to those cunts and they've turned away 14 253 fans from coming to support.
I'm praying the players stage a walk out. Maybe one of the Afghans has smuggled in an AK and does the right thing.

What are we thinking?
Bat long or get bundled out for sub 250?

If I was betting on it I would go with Zim all Out for 270 giving us a 150ish lead.
Is rain going to be a factor today? Saw there was a chance for the PM

300 would be a bonus, but much depends on these two.
20% chance of rain. Hard to say, although overcast there's no build up of tall clouds, so hopefully it stays away.

Craig Ervine's last 15 innings:
AFG 5
NZ 7 & 17
NZ 39 & 22
SA 17 & 49
SA 36 & 49
ENG 42 & 2
BAN 5 & 25
BAN 8 & 10
Are these numbers good enough or is it time to groom youngster?

Good enough. One of those 49’s vs SA he hung around for like a week while everyone else was giving it away
heroic knock. It’s not just about the numbers.

Ervine does feel like managed decline, he normally stabilises an innings and then loses concentration. But that brake roll to stop a big collapse may be what we need for now. We do need some young batsmen to knock down the door. If you drop him who is taking the place? Naqvi would be the obvious choice once he qualifies
