First 5 wicket haul for Brad Evans and Richard Ngarava✅️
First Test Hundred for Ben Curran✅️
First Test victory by an innings for Zimbabwe since 2001 ✅️
By the way we have to acknoledge that this Afhanistan was bereft of Rashid Khan and a few others.

On the other hand this Zimbabwe would have won even against Afghanistan with all its stars. Not by an innings but still a win.

Last January Afghanistan drew and then defeated Zimbabwe. Last February Ireland defeated Zimbabwe.
In the meantime a lot of matches have been played, some with huge loss, but the workload has been conducive to a much more competitive team as Zimbabwe is today.
I'm wit u playa.

Our batting has always stood up to the Afghan bowlers until Rashid is added into the mix, then he rips through us like a piranha. So exercise caution on the batting.
However what was really pleasing is the bowling unit and fielding. From what I can tell, that was top notch today. The pressure adds when you take your chances and finally hacing our top 3 seamers together just made all the difference.

Usually the only insight worth reading. This forum would be basically pointless without such posts.

It's statistically inappropriate to presume that all eleven are supposed to stand out.

In this match Bennet and Ervine did not. They have stood out several times in 2025 (Bennet in particular). It happens, it's normal.

Good news is instead the 49 runs of Welch who had been undeprforming a few times this year.

What I feel confident is that, at the end of 2025, Zimbabwe has a much better roster than it had at the beginning of the year.

Not by chance it's been a year in which Zimbabwe squad has played much more than in the past.

This without neglecting two important additions such as Taylor and Evans.

Well I got it badly wrong today. I might have sat Richie out because his red ball bowling has been sub par for a while, then he pulls a blinder and bowls with venom and accuracy.
He should actually have more than one fifer under his belt if we were honest.a day to remember for all of us.

It actually begs the question why we dont see both of them at 100% more often. Theyre different gravy when they're really hostile. Theyve both been guilty of just going through the motions on a number of occasions, or it looks like it.

Fantastic day for Zim cricket. To put that win into perspective Craig Ervine has played 31 tests in 14 years and been in the winning team 3 times.

I didn’t realise that until that win in Sylhet earlier in the year he had been waiting almost 14 years since his last win!! :o
