The Mutizwa Vs Waller battle is heating up. Chakabva hasn't remained with the pack, and these two are hunting down Ervine. Ewing might be getting into the mix as well. Interesting times ahead as far as national team combination is concerned...

If it means giving the lad the contract he wants then be it .We benefit more than letting him go off to England .
I think we should start a Gary ballnce must play for ZIm campaign ,

I wonder how many of these centuries were made in the 2005-2009 era. Gerg Strydom's looks quite out of placecricket_22001 wrote:The following is a list of double hundreds in the Logan Cup since it became first class.

Southern Rocks now 25/2 in their second innings reply . They 've been left quite vulnerable by the departure of Matsi and Ervine. Where's Taibu?

Only 5 double hundreds in the 2005- current.
Taylor, Sibanda, Ballance. S Ervine & Matsikenyeri.
Strydom's 216 was in 03/04 for Matebeleland v Midlands. He had quite a stellar year. Soma's 204 was in the return fixture same year.
These records are not hard to find. Go to cricketarchive.com, thumbnail ARCHIVE, thumbnail PLAYERS, thumbnail ZIMBABWE.
The alphabet appears & very comprehensive records appear. Record partnerships are an issue as well wicket keeping records, especially when you have some teams with multiple keepers.

Actually 16 double hundreds occurred between 01/02-04/05. This appears to be the time Zimbabwe got their act together on the first class scene. In 01/02 CFX Academy & Mashona 'A' fielded teams with the 4 provinces but after that it was just Mashona, Matebeleland, Manica & Midlands.
Only 3 doubles, Flower's 201, Shah's 200no & James 215 occurred in the 90's.

A crushing win for Rhinos as Rocks have fallen apart a second time
137 all out is the final score with Mugava bettering his career best again with 4-20, Nyathi a career best 3-13, Rainsford 2-13 and Madziva 1-36
Mutumbami 53, Chibhabha 35 and Maregwede 11 the only batsmen making double figures
Great start for Rhinos with an innings and 215 run win but worrying times for Rocks

Good work cricket_22001, good to see a fellow numbers man in these nick of woods!
Comprehensive win for the Rhinos, mention for the double centurion and the other centurion Waller, also good figures for Chinouya and Mugava...
I definitely support the push for the "Gary petition", imagine him opening the batting with boringly patient (not that I mind) Mawoyo and dropping Vusi to 3 and Taylor at 4, then Hami, Ervine, Waller and Mutizwa scrapping for 5, Taibu at 6, Meth, Shingi and Chigs slugging it out for 7 on pacy pitches or Creamer, Lamb and Dabengwa (is his left arm orthodox good enough to count as a slow allrounder?) for number 7 on the slower pitches (QSC), then 8. Jarvis and 9. Vitori/Utseya (depending on the pitch) and 10.Price, 11.Mpofu....
