Don't encourage him...? Maybe he's acknowledged the warnings for his own sake. Good on himPSR wrote:where is hhm![]()

it's a good start ... and it's really good someone's getting the foreign-soil exposure
another good note (very much an aside as this is a T20, and confidence is still very much up but) Guptil - our nemisis - did treat the SA bowlers (is that really SAs T20 side?) with the same attitude and success he did the zimbos

I was shooting for British understatement.aydee wrote:Better than respectable, I'd have said. Was entrusted with the new ball, took key wickets and was economical. Well bowled KyleJemisi wrote:3 of the top 4, including both Marshalls. Shall we say a respectable start for Jarvis at CD?

Yes, I'm certainly cheering for the Kiwis in that matchup

without hijacking the thread too much or going into why ... for all their faults (and they have many on and off the field) i still like the SA team. Some solace will be had from them losing to NZ but it would be fairly hollow. I cannot see it happening though ... there is still opportunity to 'have a go' in a T20 but i cannot see any of the NZ'ers really putting it down come test time... It would be a genuinely new era for NZ if they seriously compete with SAJemisi wrote:Yes, I'm certainly cheering for the Kiwis in that matchupbetterdays wrote: Guptil - our nemisis - did treat the SA bowlers (is that really SAs T20 side?) with the same attitude and success he did the zimbos

Cricinfo stuttering again. Found the scorecard on the NZ cricket website:
http://scoring.blackcaps.co.nz/livescor ... ecard.aspx
Jarvi ended up with a five for, excellent start, 5 for 58 of 23.5. Only 1 wide, better than the tests haha!!
Fantastic to see!! Northerns 309 all out, Stags struggling at 172/9 as I type, Jarv may well have to contribute with the bat too!! In a good little partnership with Smidt at the moment.
Good exposure for the young lad, I hope he takes a lot from this and he can improve his consistency and really assert himself as our leading quick!

5-fer and 21 not out at number eleven. Great start to his time in New Zealand!
