My post of the NZ tour must have escaped your notice, Mountaineers scored over 330 runs in a day against NZ A! I suspect this particular ND side would've fetched 450, and failed to score 400 over two innings against the current Shingi-Chatara-Tiripano-Mushangwe Goats attack.eugene wrote:Player-for-player I would back Northern Districts against any Logan Cup team any day of the week.
Despite going at close to 5rpo for their innings, they couldn't go at over 3 against my beloved Panyangara. Those very same scenes played themselves countless times in that NZ A Series. As you recall, none of our current international bowlers managed to even come close to achieving the success he had against a good number of the NZ batsmen who gave them a hiding in the just concluded tour - Brownlie, Franklin & Guptil!
Have you bothered to even review how lowly those ND batsmen fare against other batsmen in that Top 30! I doubt that Justin Marshall of yours provides a better package as an international player than Matsi who has comparable, if not superior batting figures, and can bow&field!! One would go so far as to argue that AJrvis would never be that successful in the Logan Cup against the top orders of the top three(besides Eagles)!
