Dominus Back in the spot light

Post by bayhaus »

The issue of the clubs coming back after being AWOL, and Dominus sport, didt kno OB was a director at Dominus Sport, that conflict of interest issue is even dirtier than I thought.
Bless Qudhar Mafuva said ...they are saying clubs like Old Georgians,Harare Sports Club,Country Club
should just come back in the league cause they have grounds yet they just left without notice and are not affiliated right now,and secondly the clubs without grounds should be droped, how does that work honestly,Glenshire has no ground but they are currently 2nd on the log standings,Uprising at
three,SO WHAT BASIS DO THEY HAVE TO DROP TEAMS THAT ARE PERFORMING,what development is that,WHEN LAST DID OLD GIZ AND SPORTS CLUB PLAY CLUB CRICKET,and we have never had of Country Club,i think its one of those boozers old grand pa teams that play social on a satday, Honestly speaking bringing Gayle to zim was good but besides putting the zim competition on the limelight and giving the zim players experience to play with him, what
else did it help,In actually fact he was paid more than the total amount paid to the other local players,so what benefit is that to zim cricket and
its development,if that money was put into the development of grounds and scholarships for the youth to go play in Australia or India were better
leagues are found then maybe we would have said development has been done. I think this whole issue just comes down to race im sorry to say, @rekie
yess campbell scored those runs cause he was kept in that team no matter how many ducks he made and cause he was white.Dont you think if Marengwede,Matambanadzo or the other young black batsman at that time had been given the same chances he got, dont you think they would have scored the same,my personal point of view is the guy was useless!

There is no black development is all this Dominas rubbish, and look at the directors, for example Mr Bvute, what has zim done ever since he took
over,i actually see zim cricket in a worser position than it was was when he was not there, that says it it all. Curren said in the first meeting that,"how can Jarvis go and bowl in Gen View for Glenshire, want is so special about Jarvis HONESTLY..WHAT???so cause his played in the national team he cant go and bowl at some nets in the high desinty,or maybe cause his white right?please go to hell with such thoughts and how can you say this Dominas thing is after zimbabwe cricket development, the blacks are the majority and if the game is not given to them then who, i promise you the number of white people in zimbabwe wont fil the flats in the avenues in harare today,So how can they seat and detect to us how to run and play cricket???how?anyway who is Cavin Curren and Campbell?in what capacity are they coming in to tell harare clubs what to do, if this is the start of some type of a war then please bring it on.

My heart is bleeding this is totally evil.

It is hard to know where the truth in all of this lies. If there really is a plot to make cricket all-white again it is not going to work as there aren't enough white people in Zimbabwe to sustain it. I would think money is a bigger motivation behind these developments than race.

On a side note, to compare Alistair Campbell to Maregwede and Matambanadzo is laughable. Alistair may not have always been the most consistent guy in the team but he was of international calibre whereas Maregwede clearly isn't.

Campbell scored 9 international hundreds. Yep, he didn't score them often enough, but plenty of players that could have been in his place would never have scored one. After well over 100 innings we are still waiting for Matsi to get one.

this is the problem we are always going to see in multi racial socieities, although its easily argued that zim really isnt...but in cricketing terms it is.

Thers always going to be paranoid people on both sides of the fence seeing through white or black coloured lenses... sometimes they maybe right, more often than not rubbish, but you'll often never know.

That said... regarding Campbell the original poster is talkig out of his anal hole.
campbell averages 30 in ODIs against STRONG cricket countries, thats better than most current zim players today who have similar averages but have been fluffed up by always playing bangladesh, disproportionate amount of 2nd tier teams like ireland and namibia and test teams resting their stars.
That Didnt happen in Alis time.....

Like jemisi said, he was one of the most inconsistent players in zimbabwe history but when he was on, he'd often make a ton- something the current crop cant really do besides hammy and taylor.
i concede he was kept around alot when he was out of form but the zimbabwe team of 1995 had the same problems as the team of today, theres no depth and the cupboard was bare... the only difference was back then we at least had a crutch in the batting (flower and houghton) and the bowling (streak).

We dont have that crutch to lean on today. We have Taylor - who is better than Campbell- but he is inconsistent at times too.

Great to have the Dogg's input. On a side note, why are so many people lacking basic literacy skills? I get tired of trying to decipher people's crap.
