I'm pretty sure it is Rawson, that was my first thought when I saw the pic.

No Guys, he is not Rawson either.
Well, as you saw on his T-shirt there is a turbaned sikh saluting. The occassion was Zim's first ever Test. Normally till 1992, it was England who used to play first ever tests with debutant countries. As Zimbabwe hammered them in the 92 WC so there was bit of acrimony. Stepped in India & played with Zim on 18 Oct 92. This T-shirt is sort of saluting India for giving Zim opportunity to host them in Tests. Similar T-shirt was worn by Skipper Haughton.

So this down to earth gentleman who is an umpire now & also had the distinction of being the only englishmen to have scored century on debut at Lords is-

John Hampshire who was the coach of Zimbabwe team, which played its first ever test & further 7-8 series.

Thank you, and you are right. This also gives us a chance to know more about the current generation, many of whom have unfortunately had to turn their back on Zim Cricket. The likes of Kingsley Went and Co.

Click "Post reply", and just below the submit button click "upload attachment" and add pic from your PC or mobile by "browsing it" & "adding" it.

Here is another one. Who's the batsman being dismissed in this pic?

Looks like the current bowling coach Dougie Hondo for me.

Exactly.
This one is from the special Flower test where RSA scored 600 & in response Andy Flower fought single-handedly with 142 & 199*.

Hondo helped AF inthis last wkt p'ship while the world class batsmen went from 159 to 199. Here in this pic, AF took single of the 4th ball but then Hondo played half-forward to Nel's next & Tiffin raised his dreaded finger. This decison was also much debated & left AF stranded on 199*.
