[Match Thread] Zimbabwe v Bangladesh: 2nd Test
Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe v Bangladesh: 2nd Test
BD have done very well, I think 380 to 400 is realistic for them, which means a collapse for us is dangerous this time. I don't want to face a 100 run deficit going into the third day, which is a possibility if they score quickly and we collapse. However, if Vusi and Hami chip in with the runs, as they are due, then we could draw even and if we happen to skittle them in their 2nd innings. So first session tomorrow is crucial, they shouldn't get close to 400.

We don't have much batting left at all. Nasir is it. I have high hopes for Gazi but he hasn't showed up yet. This guy Zia is pure slogger with zero batting skill. He's a sitting duck. We'll do well to get 350, and anything more would simply be a huge bonus. Its entirely possible that we could be 320 all out in the first half hour tomorrow.Boundary wrote:BD have done very well, I think 380 to 400 is realistic for them, which means a collapse for us is dangerous this time. As far as all the talk about Cremer goes. When I first saw him, I thought he was very good. He certainly does seem to have a mastery on the googly and that can be dangerous. I think he can be a very good bowler for ZIM if he keeps going. He's still fairly young and now is one of the more experienced guys. One thing with leggies is that they are very hard to control, so you will often see rank long hops and boundary balls...if he can cut them down he will be a good bowler.

BD are ahead. 300 on the board will always challenge for a lead against us. We are a chance for knocking them for 320 and then gaining a lead oursleves, but they could easily get 350+. That would mean a long way back for us batting last.

Is ZCF_Outkast on cricinfo hhm? His tone sounds just like hhm's. And did hhm get banned from here?

strongly believed (with 99.9% certainty) thats hhm.

Time to get our heads together to knock over this tail. Day two of this test is a real challenge for where the team is up to mentally. We are a little behind but the game is wide open if we win the hours and the sessions.

A very ordinary day of Test cricket from what I saw.
I'm worried - but that's my normal mindset when Zim are playing, so everything's cool, or is it?

Meth gets his man!
If we had stuck to the basics yesterday, we would have been batting by tea. Wasn't impressed by Jarvis yesterday - walked onto the pitch as if he thought he has the next Steyn and that he deserved the wickets rather than having to earn them. It ain't enough to talk the talk, he has to walk the walk. That's what Zim have to understand here. Hope certain people got an earful last night.

Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).

It was a reality check, for sure. We have to grab these last three and then the top order has to fire.
