Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
This dress is from 2000-2002 times.Viljoen, BStrang, Murph,Marillier all there. One big name is missin though-Streaky. So, may be this is Heath Streak's shirt when the heat(heath) was on in Carlton united series. He had the mt winning figures of 8-4-8-4 against WI so may b this is his player of the mt shirt.
Its my pure guess though.

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
Yes, the dress is from 2000-01 Carlton United tri-series down under. Indeed Streaky bowled that deadly spell of 8-4-8-4 in that series. But the shirt is not his.
This actually is the shirt of the then Vice-Captain Guy Whittall, signed by all the 18 members of the Zimbabwean touring party, including Streaky, and coach Carl Reckemann (At least according to this site). I don't know why, but this is not the only occasion where Whittall's shirt was made the souvenir. A year ago, they had signed on his shirt for another auction. May be carried too many shirts with him.
But I must reward you for a more than decent attempt. So, half a point on its way...

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
Now, let us digress a little bit from the usual Q&A, and try to identify as many signatures as possible on that shirt. I have enlarged the pic to facilitate that too.
As Dr. Situ has also noted a few, there are signatures from Marillier (1), Viljoen (2), Campbell (3), Guy Whittall (4), Carlise (5) and Murphy (6) as I have marked.
How many more can we guess? Is it Gripper's signature below Murphy's? Where is Bryan Strang's? (Of course no points for this activity

I really love those Zimbabwean shirts especially the second one.I think, those shirts were far more better and impressive than the one Zimbabwe is currently wearing.I think you guys will agree with me.
And the team was superb inneed.I strongly opt for at least some of the guys will back in the team from the team of 2001-02.

Well, I don't think we have much luck in identifying other signatures. Just one change from the previous claim I had made about the identified ones: Signature No 4. is actually Gus Mackay and not Guy Whittall.
Talking about Zimbabwe outfits, one of my favorites was from WC1999. Here is a screen grab from those glorious days:
Getting back to quizzing ways, (Q. 56) can you recognize the significance of this moment?

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
As a stab in the dark, I'll say it was his maiden ODI century.
But what I wanted to reply for was about the kits. I reckon the 2007 kit looked great:

Although there was something I always loved about the 2003-04 kit:

I like the current orange one, it's distinctive and the big "Z" is a nice touch. My favourites were the green and red ones from above though

That Old Mutual sponsored kit is my all time favorite too. That was awesome.
Coming to the answer, no. that was not his maiden 100.

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
I have fond memories of this innings(if i am not wrong) but cant say the same for Warne. The pic is signifying 132 not out at Lords against aussies.
Coming to kit, my favourite is that used in 92 world cup. How can one forget Andy's 115* on debut and Brandes' sensational spell in those dress.

I agree with Crimson Avenger, the kit of Old Mutual was really great.
The 1st one green and red outfit is also seems nice. But dont know why I dont like the current orange shirt of Zimbabwe.I think, orange should be replaced by red.And at the middle of it a Zimbabwean bird is also needed.

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
You got it right. This is when he reached his 100 in that 132*. He had also picked up a couple of wickets earlier on, but his all-round effort went in vain, as Australians won the match. Neil Johnson won the Man of the Match award for that superhuman effort braving cramps.Dr_Situ(ZimFanatic) wrote:I have fond memories of this innings(if i am not wrong) but cant say the same for Warne.
