zimfan1 is up for Matabeleland now.
I'm going to be unpopular here and split a family up.

I declare Shingirai Masakadza a Tuskers player :D

Alright, that right there is our worst case scenario. We were hoping against this, but knew it might happen. So, the Mountaineers think tank is contemplating a VETO here. Debut in 2008, only played for Eastern sides. Checking with BRMT Admin if we can excercise veto, but we know that we might end up in deep trouble with respect to team balance later if we do that now.

Final call not yet taken.

My maths is fairly ropey but I don't make that 10 years ;)

Well, this is what the rule says:
brmtaylor.com admin wrote:A veteran being someone who has not represented another team in the Logan Cup in the last 10 years
If you don't consider when he made his debut (which is not implied in that statement), he hasn't played for anyone else in the last 10 years :)

If he has to play for a team for 10 years, I don't see many other candidates apart from the example Nyumbu who could qualify for veto at all...

Okay, we've definitely got a case of ambiguous wording here.
What I meant by the veteran rule was indeed having first played over 10 years ago as shown with the Nyumbu example. However as CrimsonAvenger points out this is not explicitly stated in the rules.

The executive council therefore apologises to all affected parties and has no choice but to rule that legally this veto is valid, and henceforth can be referred to as the Masakadza ruling.

Should Mountaineers choose to proceed with their veto Matabeleland will need to pick again, while S Masakadza must be taken with Mountaineers third round pick.

On the basis I expect the veto to be used I will opt to retain Tawanda Mupawira for the Tuskers

As the veto is in effect and that would mean Shingi goes to the Mountaineers as their next pick, ill get this moving along and select Tinashe Panyangara for the Mash Eagles.

All right guys, quite a lot of assumptions there while we were still exploring the veto option, but yes, we are indeed going for Shingi Masakadza. The following scenes would repeat more often :)

Would like to express our commiserations to the Tuskers here, but we really wanted to keep the family together... Best wishes to Tawanda on his quest to get back into the national set up. Deserves his chance again.

After all of the drama of the second round, we have the following movements:
#5 Chatara -> Mountaineers
#6 Raza -> Mashonaland
#7 Vitori -> Rhinos
#8 S Masakadza -> Matabeleland (VETOED by Mountaineers)
#8 T Mupariwa -> Matabeleland
So the current squads look like this:
Mountaineers ($14,000 remaining)

1. H Masakadza
2. T Chatara
3. S Masakadza

Mashonaland Eagles ($17,000 remaining)

1. B Taylor
2. S Raza

Mid West Rhinos ($17,000 remaining)

1. S Williams
2. B Vitori

Matabeleland Tuskers ($17,000 remaining)

1. E Chigumbura
2. T Mupariwa
Plus Panyangara to the Eagles, leaving Rhinos with the next call.
