It certainly looks as if you like to keep everyone on their toes. Kamungozi preferred over the established Eagles' slow bowlers ... I can almost sense ZC stepping in ...zimbos_05 wrote:All options are being addressed. We would like to think that no player is guaranteed of a start in any format of the game. Glad that Eagles retained Gumbie. I assume he will take the gloves in the Logan Cup while Taylor would keep in the shorter forms to keep sharp for the same duties with the national side?
The Eagles have decided on their next draft pick and would like to snatch from the draft T Kamungozi.

Re: Phantom Draft
The think tank at Mutare is a bit off-synch due to the different demands of public holidays and work, but I'm confident our CEO will be with you to kick things off for the last three rounds early tomorrow (early for me, that is).

Re: Phantom Draft
After some deliberation we have come to the conclusion that, in all kindness and due respect, we would like to ask the Tuskers for permission to talk to veteran off-spinner John Nyumbu.
Re: Phantom Draft
After consideration the Tuskers have decided to veto the move as two spinners is a must for a side which play there home games at queens.foreignfield wrote:After some deliberation we have come to the conclusion that, in all kindness and due respect, we would like to ask the Tuskers for permission to talk to veteran off-spinner John Nyumbu.

Re: Phantom Draft
Well, that was on the expected lines. Someone had to pull the trigger to try and go for Nyumbu. Looks like the Tuskers management was playing the waiting game with the luxury of veto.
Ok, we can't get the spinner in, so we go for the best bowling option still available on the scene. A backup pacer and an exciting young prospect, Cuthbert Musoko.
Also, must admit, a bit shocked by that Kamungozi selection by the Eagles, but they know their players best

Re: Phantom Draft
I'm off fellas, I will be back Friday, sorry for the pause.
Re: Phantom Draft
The Eagles will not be held hostage to players and player demands. We select the players we think will be the best for the squad and for Zim cricket in the future. If certain players want to be selected then they know that their are certain changes they need to make and implement.foreignfield wrote:It certainly looks as if you like to keep everyone on their toes. I must say, im quite surprised no one else went for "him". It is a well known fact that I am not He who must now be named biggest fan.CrimsonAvenger wrote: Also, must admit, a bit shocked by that Kamungozi selection by the Eagles, but they know their players best

Re: Phantom Draft
Well, that was in jest, as we were all going for Kamungozi's head in the recently concluded WT20
. The Eagles are surely building up a much younger unit (and potentially exciting) than others, so kudos for that.
