Didn't both the grounds have a bit of work done in the lead up to the 2003 World Cup?sloandog wrote:Some really good snaps in hat album isn't there. Love the photo's of the Harare Sports club during the 1992 test match. I can't believe how bare the ground was, and how open. To be honest I liked it better like that.
When did all the renovations at Harare actually take place ? Does anybody know ?
The photos of it in 1992 do look very nice. But times have changed, there isn't a venue in the world that hosts top flight cricket that looks like that now... HSC has modernised and it is a great venue for cricket.
BAC hasn't though! It surprised me how low key that was for a First Class venue - it's hard to believe they had a Test match there. It's quite a difference between that and the second tier venues in Australia... places like Junction Oval and North Sydney Oval have big grandstands and quite a bit going on.
