Has this got to do with some freakish way of getting out - their shot hitting the non-striker before becoming a catch? Or is it scoring the same amount of runs in both innings of a test match?

Neither. It is a batting feat that is impossible for one man alone to achieve, but it is not about partnerships either :D

Ok, here's a decisive clue: It was mentioned on commentary (cricinfo) during a recent Test match.

Hmh, what more clues can I give you? The two Zimbos are of a different complexion than our Aussie friends up there :) , and one of them isn't particulary known for his batting. One of them is retired, the other still active.

To do what they did, you need a little bit of help ...

Not completely far off, but no. Think "contemporary of Matsi" and "much younger bowler than Olonga" :)

I wouldn't have had a clue about this question if I hadn't come across this bit of cricinfo commentary last week ;)
