So Whatmore was going to bring back all these guys who haven't been playing ? Along with selecting Ervine and Mire without playing domestically they're setting a dangerous precedent .....

But does it really matter if these guys are playing domestically or not ? In football all the best brazillians play overseas but I don't see it harming their production line of players or the sport in general in the country, I know it's not fair comparing Zimbabwe cricket to Brazillian football but I think it would be good for the national team if they picked these guys even if they weren't playing locally ......

This team is based on hope that anything else. Which what some of us Zimboz have a lot of. Or perhaps the likes of Matsikenyeri, Chibhabha, Ervine and Utseya with his unproved "new" action are really putting a lot of effort in camp because their stats don't really show much. I would have thought jus throw in a youngster for the sake of it. They have time to work on their game. Something Matsikenyeri no longer has. One innings hardly defines a player Coventry comes to mind.

I'm of the opinion that players batsman especially get better with age ( until a certain point) so I don't mind that we' picked experienced players like Matsi and Chamu. It's not like we left out any outstanding youngsters you have demanded selection. Really when u look at it the guys we think are lucky to be selected who would we have in place of them ? Vusi and Waller are the only two experienced guys who missed out but both have been horribly out of form for so long. Chances are these guys we selected will have mediocre results and calls for Vusi and Waller will be heard but really it's the same old story, we cry for the same guys to be dropped and replaced with the same guys we were calling for their heads only a few months ago, it really is a sad cycle that continues to be replayed ......

Why? We are not a nation who can afford to be picky or have a hugh pool of talent coming through. We need to pick our best players and if those players are playing overseas then so be it. Until such a time as when we can actually have some sort of stability in our structure and our set up, we can not afford to be overly picky without teams.

On second thoughts, Vusi would probably be worth his own as a specialist fielder. Vusi, Williams and Mire together could produce some electric fielding in the ring.

Specially when Stuart Matsikenyeri finds a place. I'll take Sibanda every day of the week over Matsikenyeri.

Why is cricket set up that players have to play domestically in the same country they play international cricket for? Is there any other sport that works this way? Rugby in the case of NZ and Australia I guess.
