Team Nickname?
Re: Team Nickname?
94 was a great shirt. Those shirts they used to come up with for World Series Cricket were great. Every team had the same design but a different colour scheme, it worked well. West Indies used to have a good shirt in the mid nineties also when they played in Australia. the 96 shirt is special to me because we beat England wearing that shirt.

Watching eddo walk onto the MCG to a packed house with his gut Hanginout. Love it

I love that one too. In truth we've had them on both spectrums like you say. Faithwear is a Zim company from what I remember, right? Sticking with them would've given us better kits for the T20 tourney. Those were appalling!
Oh, in the context of the topic, I think Flame Lillies is about right!

The Lily is a bit effeminate for me. Maybe for the women's side.
For the blokes, don't really think one is required.

Saying that, we the fans can unofficially declare them what we want and that will gainmomentum too if the commentators and cricinfo journos catch wind.

Thats what happened with media referring to the Indian team as "Men in Blue" for a while. Even they have forgotten it prety much now.ZIMDOGGY wrote:Saying that, we the fans can unofficially declare them what we want and that will gainmomentum too if the commentators and cricinfo journos catch wind.

Thandar nickname is good.
Re: Team Nickname?
Zimbabwe media constantly calls the Zim Cricket team the Chevrons. How many of you fellas agree with this name. One thing is certain though the name is not home grown but an adoption from the days Zim Cricket team used to play in the South Africa First Class competition 2007/8 season. Has the name stuck or perhaps the media just forcing it. To me its like calling the team Nashua or maybe Pepsi with no financial benefits coming from using the name.

^ That name is plain stupid.
We might as well call our men the "Red Pack"

How about the 'Red Army'? The Patron would like it I'm sure.
