Yeah we definitely need to invest in youngsters like Chimhamhiwa, Mupunga, Musoko, Munyede, Wellington, etc but I was talking more about guys who I have seen a bit of and would be ready for international cricket right away ......CrimsonAvenger wrote:Can't believe how well our batting went against SA and WI. And the attitude with which we approached was excellent. Just that the lack of depth in the bowling made it too difficult for our batters to overcome.
Hammy can't go on with these single digit scores. He must come to the party, please (impatience of a fanatic, but he has the form to contribute more, so not incorrect to be demanding more). It leaves a bad taste when I think about what the final SA score would have been if Hammy was given a quiet spell of 5 overs that day. We would be chasing much less for sure, and would have achieved it.
Williams must have been a treat to watch in the last two knocks. Vintage Williams.
Bowling, looks like a long list jaybro, not much hope though. I would say invest on two guys not in that list: Munyede for spin and Chinouya for pace, with an eye on Muzarawetu.
Get Brent to work with Shingi and Vitori and get them back on track!!!

Chakabva isn't a one day player period. Mercifully he was out pretty early doors. We need justice back and mire for the woeful matsi
Re: [Match Thread] West Indies v Zimbabwe (World Cup Pool B)
Okay, so having sat through that match with a helpful bloke in my ear telling me how great it was that Gayle was doing what he was doing I now feel like I have been bent over by that large West Indian and abused with full prejudice.
Chatara bowled with good energy but little clue. Panyangara, well. It was the best of times and worst of times. He may be better bowling 7 or 8 straight and then not coming back. He is the worst option of anyone at the moment late on.
The batting was pretty pleasing.
Taylor's ripoff was a vile joke from the 3rd umpire.
Chakabva is actually the least useful player in the current team, he needs to be swapped for Mupariwa. We are desperate for bowling options. Mire shold come back for Matsi, the middle order is actually doing very well by our standards. They were calm and approached the massive challenge with aplomb,
Looking at things as they stand we have
Raza
Hami
Taylor
Williams
Ervine
Chigs
Chatara
these guys actually belong in this class.
Panyangara
Mire
almost there
Kamungozi would be replaced in an instant by any of our previous spin trio - perhaps Lamb is a better option
Chakabva needs to reinvent his game in this format
We are just really short of bowling, I can't actually think of anyone that would have done much better yesterday since the Streak era. There just hasn't/isn't a production line of decent seamers.

espncricinfo :
If the World Cup was played in a 40-over format, Zimbabwe could have won all their matches so far. At that stage of the game, Zimbabwe have been ahead all three times.
In Hamilton, Zimbabwe had South Africa 193 for 4 after 40 overs and were 234 for 5 in the reply themselves. In Nelson, they had UAE were 204 for 4 after 40 overs and had reached 222 for 5, in a contest they went on to win anyway. And in Canberra, West Indies were 220 for 1, Zimbabwe 262 for 8.

Totally agree man Sean has a coolness at the crease that I like.SpitfiresKent wrote:Sean Williams is an absolute joy to watch at the moment, anyone who didn't see his innings today I'm telling you to go find highlights of it now, you will not be disappointed. Also I wouldn't at all be surprised if he gets a IPL contract (being serious) some of those sweeps/reverse sweeps/drives were absolutely stunning!
