I like Manase, he's comes across as a nice bloke. Bvute on the other hand doesn't.jimmylesaint wrote:Wilson is screwed at the July elections which is a shame as he has made steady progress and been fair.
BTW are you on twitter Jimmy?

EitherWhy Jimmy? who is gonna be the new chairman?
1)A relative unknown who will be a puppet
2)Freddy Kapuya(though he could also be the above)
3)Hot favourite Ozias Bvute
4)outside chance the hardworking Manase
Am i on twitter---no . Not sure how it works to be honest- is it any benefit to keeping up with cricket? Or tweeting about cricket.

I don't know what it is, or why I have this feeling, but I wonder if Stephen price is Stuart Carlisle.
Stuart has these sentiments and from the articles I've read from stu he is very articulated and can write well

Re: Zimbabwe to tour Pakistan for ODI series
Probably a pseudonym. He was an ever present on Cricinfo about 10 years ago but the articles dried up in 2009, save for one in 2010 and another in 2013. It's a shame really, because his articles provided a lot of insight. He was/is clearly a local because the stories he uncovered were original, investigative and hard hitting. And he was clearly passionate about Zimbabwe cricket.eugene wrote:Reporter Stephen Price is rather mysterious also. He doesn't actually exist, or at least I can't find any evidence he does. I think he was invented by Cricinfo. Neither John Ward nor Dean du Plessis have any clue who he is and both doubt his true existence.
Firdose Moonda is a good writer, but she's South Africa's correspondent first and foremost. Zimbabwe news is a secondary concern which is why Zim is so underrepresented on Cricinfo. 9/10 times Zim news would be broken here or even local Zim media days before Cricinfo get on it - if they get on it at all. Any interesting articles from her generally contain superficial stuff coming from conversations she's had with the players. Which is fine, especially given Zim is not her primary focus... but it's still not the same sort of journalism that Steven Price used to provide.
Gut feeling is there was a bit of horse trading going on between Cricinfo and ZC. Cricinfo lay off the investigative journalism, ZC will be forthcoming with scorecards, player interviews, etc. That's just my take.

Well it's not John Ward!Since then many who worked for the Zimbabwe Cricket Union (ZCU) have been sacked or have had conditions made so unpleasant for them that they have voluntarily resigned. John Ward, who was their 'media consultant',a job which combined match reporter, statistician, biographer, historian, compiler of the yearbook and main contributor to the web site is a good example of what is happening inside this Zanu PF controlled organisation.
In March he took his ZCU laptop for repair. Ozias Bvute, Managing Director of the ZCU ordered the technician to examine the hard drive. Bvute suspected Ward of being the 'Steven Price' who had written anti-ZCU articles in Wisden. No articles were found but Ward had corresponded regularly with people all over the world and the technician came up with those e mails and personal correspondence that contained criticism of ZCU policy. Bvute immediately sacked him.

Jimmy would make a good modern day price.
Googly would too if he modifies the 'bang as you go and let the words run' approach , just for journalistic purposes
