Both Lake and Banda have a couple of 50s to show for any significant quality cricket they have played in the last year and a half. We'll only know if they are good enough at this level once we see them in action.

Chapungu probably deserves a go after playing almost the whole of last season's matches in T20 mode (and getting some success). Lot of responsibility on Moor, Chari and Shingi, and hope they come good.

Would be great to watch the progress made by Mavuta, Murray, Mashinge and Ives. Ives is probably not made for T20s from what we saw in the U19 CWC. He is an accumulator, and does not have the power to force runs, but let us see how he goes. Would have preferred Keefe over Ives from what we saw earlier (for T20s). Not sure if he was available though.

Is George Banda related to Lovemore?

ADAM KEEFE & RYAN BURL SHOULD HAVE BEEN PREFERRED OVER CHAPUNGU & W.MASAKADZA, THEN THE TEAM WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE STRONG

I believe so. But he has been injured for a long time now.

Anyone know any more?

It will be interesting to see how the younger fellas will do at the T20 games. players like Wasakadza are second to none and should do well.
Most of these players need a year or two in the Franchise system to prove they are worth a call up to the national team proper. PJ has been around for a while and it does seem his time has come.

Been at Uni in SA.

If I remember right, he was quite a big prospect in schoolboy cricket, and made his List A debut extremely young.

There seems to be two changes to this list of 13 in what ZC has officially announced today:

No Malcolm Lake and no Brian Chari. Instead, in comes Timycen Maruma to join his brother, and Rugare Magarira.

Also, two reserves annouced: Milton Shumba and Dion Mazhawidza.

Mangongo is the coach, with Utseya as assistant and Nick Singo as manager. More here: http://www.kwesesports.com/cricket/coun ... -starlets/
