Don't forget the thread title though - SEAN WILLIAMS WATCH SINCE CWC15. Otherwise even cumulative comparisons with Panyangara (who bowled 40-50% at the death there) will be meaningless.
As a side note, I think I've already said that generally, Hami&Williams are the two batsmen of genuine quality that Zimbabwe has on the whole. (Regis Chakabva has time on his side to join them, and I've also said I still personally believe Vusi Sibanda is the best even though he hasn't really shown it in the last 14 months.
The forum is littered with references of the fact that I do rate Sean, so to reduce this to me vs him is a waste of time. I suggest you read the OP again.
If Sean Williams was a Roelof van der Merwe, Jadeja, Binny or the "legal" bowling Hafeez - despite having a good CWC, I'm pretty sure he would have been dropped, and the Cricinfo articles would have had the same arguments I raised here before that player's dropping. Stick to bare cricket facts and discuss them on their merits or agree to disagree.
I'm not sure if any in that core group of batsmen you refer to, owe 50% of their runs (& 60% wicekts) to the CWC 7 months ago when Six important Series have taken place since then. Zimbabwe were always bound to lose every match in the CWC except against UAE. But were expected to do well against those very weakened sides and Associates. Therein lies the difference. PRESSURE and EXPECTATION!
