That' definitely shows commitment. He definitely was pretty talented in the U19 team so a season and a half and he should be knocking on the doors for national selection. But Rhinos is where the incumbent national leggie plays. Even if we consider that they play on a dry track once in a while that necessitates more than one spinner, picking two leggies in an XI is unlikely. Hopefully he does not get frustrated with lack of game time. Also, hope he does not follow the footsteps of Maruma, Mutombodzi. He already showed a lot of maturity for a leggie in the U19 world cup and should serve us well in future if he sticks to that as his main trade.

Thing is,
The situation that is unique to Zimbabwean cricket is there players don't make themselves available to play for Zimbabwe

Unknown Stoneman's dog, dont vomite your own made explaination

You still dont get it,

You think just because these players are playing under 19s, that they are still harbouring ambitions to play for Zim.

Listen,
They can represent at age group level all they wish without affecting future eligivility prospects elsewhere. Its a different story for the national team

Case in point;
Garry Ballance rep'ed zim at the under 19 world cuip and trned down a national call up.

Colin De Grandhomme was our best player in the 19s at that era, selected for the top but turned down even a franchise contract.

Most of these 19 yr olds dont want to play full time even for domestic, some want to represent England, some dont want to gamble due to the lack of money along the way to the Zimbabwean team.

If the youngsters want to stay and fight, trust me, they will get their opportunities.

With some exception, players who are good enough, get their chance.

Zimbbwe should identify top talent at 19s level, and give a clear concise written pathway to the national team with a clear timeline, that isnt that long.

Present an 18 to 24 month plan to the senor team for Jay Schadendorf and Ryan Murray and they MAY stick around.

Looking at the surnames, I dont think Jay would have an english passport as he could be semi Afrikaner. Just speculating.

Which realistically means he'll automatically be available for England

No wait, his surname is German, not Dutch/Afrikaner. Therefore World Cricket League Division 6 (or maybe 7, I'm not sure) glories await him. That is if he picks up some Urdu to fit more easily into the German national side ;)
