Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
507. There is a long-running tv show here in Germany called "I bear a famous name". The gentleman seen here, a FC player for Rhodesia, fits into that category, although I'm unsure of any direct relation to the younger and much more famous bearers of the same surname. Who is he?*

Correct. There seems to be more of a likeness to Choppa than to Kirsty Coventry. Or is it just the glasses?

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
Apparently Kirsty and Charles aren't related at all (read that somewhere). But I refuse to believe there was a third Coventry family which is unrelated to either. And given he played cricket, my guess is that he is a relative of Charles Coventry.

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
Age-wise (born 1928) Ron Coventry could have been father or uncle of Charles sen. (born 1958), the umpire.brmtaylor.com admin wrote:Apparently Kirsty and Charles aren't related at all (read that somewhere). What's next on the list? Sangakarra/Jayawardene's record partnership of 624? That's some way to go!CrimsonAvenger wrote:This was after question number 342. We have even crossed Lara's 501
Well, the next might be one of the more bizarre questions of this quiz:
508. There are two points up for grabs here: One for identifying the crest, and one for the missing link to royalty.

for the quick single. The logo is the Stragglers Junior Cricket Club.
The stolen second run will require some research.

We can switch over to wickets. May be Walsh's 519, McGrath's 563 and Kumble's 619 are the next targets before we hit Sanga and Mahela.foreignfield wrote:What's next on the list? Sangakarra/Jayawardene's record partnership of 624? That's some way to go!
Not even the faintest of ideas as to how the Stagglers and the royalty could be linked. Still exploring...foreignfield wrote:508. There are two points up for grabs here: One for identifying the crest, and one for the missing link to royalty.
