Re: Team for 1st ODI
I'm glad that there is talk of experimentation during this series, however, i can't believe that the selctors will want to start those experiments from game 1, the series must be won, no ifs or buts, it must be won.
On that basis i can't see anything other than the following XI for the opening match
1 Masakadza
2 Vermeulen
3 Coventry
4 Taylor
5 Matsikenyeri
6 Williams
7 Chigumbura
8 Utseya (c)
9 Cremer
10 Price
11 Mpofu
Perhaps the Harare wicket will take spin from the off, i don't know, but personally i'm not overly keen on having 3 front line slow bowlers at the expense of a 3rd proper seamer, i guess that it will be ok for Bangladesh but if Zim were going to somewhere like New Zealand then Utseya, Price and Cremer would be a luxury too far.
I suppose that Mpofu will rotate with Jarvis and Garwe during this series and there will be little problem slipping Mutizwa in for another of the batsman, but i'm not so sure where Waller fits in though.
I'm also a little concerned that when Jarvis plays he will be likely to only have Chigumbura on the field with him as a fellow seamer, i hope that he will get sufficient help and not just be left out there to work things out for himself if it starts to go wrong at all.

Re: Team for 1st ODI
No spinning trio for me at HSC. No Stuey in my team. Would have loved toinclude Cremer at the expense of Utseya but both these are not practically feasible.

Re: Team for 1st ODI
I would want Matsikinyere in my side at the expesence of either Coventry or Vermuelen these guys havent been performing much on the domestic front. With Mutizwa taking the gloves I would love to see Taylor opening again. I would also like to see Cremer in the side but I wouldnt go for 3 spinners and Utseya is the captain of the side so that a hard pill to swalow
