(Logan Cup) Rhinos v Eagles & Mountaineers v Tuskers
Re: (Logan Cup) Rhinos v Eagles & Mountaineers v Tuskers
Fed up of our batsman being unable to stick it out at the crease in domestic cricket.

One of those rare cases when the Rhinos actually look the stronger side on paper...

Elton's off stump went cartwheeling.
Raza looking like a real liability with his gammy leg. They are going hard with the short stuff. Easy two's aren't being taken. I should get back out there because I can see one being popped to short leg or a stump doing 360s on its way to Nyasha.

I think ZC need to introduce quotas, only Waller, Waller and Cremer playing today out of 44 players, where the hell are Williams and Ervine? do they still play cricket? no Burl either, never mind though as long as the likes of Chigumbura and Nyathi keep getting selected .........

Hasakadza in t20 mode maybe making a case for ipl selection(misplaced) goes early. Of all batsman only Mawoyo showing too grit. Sad.
What Quotas? Surely one can only select from players that make themselves available?

Don't start that quota talk again. These are the best players in Zimbabwe WHO WANT to play first class cricket.Train Driver wrote:I think ZC need to introduce quotas, only Waller, Waller and Cremer playing today out of 44 players, where the hell are Williams and Ervine? do they still play cricket? no Burl either, never mind though as long as the likes of Chigumbura and Nyathi keep getting selected .........

Eagles 55 for 5 at lunch.
Best session of bowling from Rhinos this season. Excellent aggression with the short ball and very few loose deliveries. In fact it might be the best bowling I've seen this season from any side. That being said, batsmen error did play a part. The run out was a total mix up and Mutombodzi tried to loft Cremer's first ball. Cremer's solitary over was eventful with the ball turning and bouncing quite remarkably for a day 1 pitch. The four off him came courtesy of a thick top edge from a cut shot. Mike deserved his 3 wickets and was easily the quickest and most aggressive.

MWR come on spill the beans, why can't any Zimbabwe first class side bat out 90 overs in a day?MidWest Rhinos wrote:Eagles 55 for 5 at lunch.

They are mentally weak.zimfan1 wrote:MWR come on spill the beans, why can't any Zimbabwe first class side bat out 90 overs in a day?MidWest Rhinos wrote:Eagles 55 for 5 at lunch.

EDIT: Just put your question to Robin. He agreed that it is mental weakness but did remind about Mountaineers and Rhinos batting for longer periods than normal in the last game. In both innings there was someone out there who showed resolve, something which is lacking in most cases.
