Why is Maehara Locking Threads?
Why is Maehara locking threads in which Flakmen is found to be offside instead of just banning the Zimbabwean racist? Discuss.

I "enjoyed" that thread from a distance. It was gut-wrenching!
But so are several in the archives that I've gone through, and I've been astonished by quite a number of the threads and posts.
Action/inaction is the preserve of the owner of the forum, but I think the closing comment was fair.

I don't know if that means we must open another Zim Rising Stars thread as it was a very important thread that kept us informed about the academy side?
For those who doubt Themba Bavuma's ability (I think it was my good friend Jaybro), you really need to read this to understand why as it stands Themba is currently worth his weigh in gold in the South African side:

This analysis is from Tom Eaton, the best cricket writer and analyst you will find in all of SA (Flakemen-Ben Shapiro style)

Re: Why is Maehara Locking Threads?
Tom's breakdown of Bavuma mirrors mine. He's a crisis man and his stats stack up in that regard.
What Tom missed is Bavuma's List A tendencies. By and large Bavuma has failed in List A batting in the middle order because he struggles to accelerate, no matter the gaps adn the platform laid for him at Lions. His 100 on ODI debut explains why Bavuma struggles say if he comes in at 300/4, but can build and anchor while opening in an ODI.
Again Bavuma is not Jonty-like but Prince-like.
On the whole I firmly belive that while Bavuma, is doing well, Ramela would perform that role twice as well as he does - and be far mre consistent. Bavuma needs to bat a little bit higher.
I have a feeling Faf may open eventually, so that frees up a spot. He was dropped not too long ago for failing in Tests and like JP who got a couple of tons after that, they both never really nailed down a spot in the top 6 of the Test XI.

Mark this day in history, I agree with hhm. And remember that when I eventually ban you again.pariah wrote:Action/inaction is the preserve of the owner of the forum
Feel free, as long as the subject remains the Zim Rising Stars. Last thread was closed for going off topic, as it had been several pages since the last on-topic contribution. You'll note the thread wasn't deleted, so anything you condsider important in it is still there.Conant wrote:I don't know if that means we must open another Zim Rising Stars thread as it was a very important thread that kept us informed about the academy side?
On a general moderation note: some people did Report the Rising Stars thread as 'offensive'. There was nothing offensive there - Flakeman may have expressed an opinion that few people here would've agreed with, but that in itself doesn't merit deletion / locking / other moderation. If it had been posted in the appropriate place (say, a dedicated thread about race quotas) I'd probably have left it be & left you all to argue the point (politely). The sole issue was that it was derailing a thread that was, imo, related to another topic.
There's also this line in the Attention All Posters announcement:
Clearly I'm being nice today, but still: in line with that rule, locking.maehara wrote:- DON'T assume that you have any free speech right on the forums - you don't - or expect admins to discuss admin / moderator actions in open topics. Sometimes we might, but we'll be far more likely to hit 'delete'. Whether that's on your thread or your account depends on just how much you've managed to annoy us.
