More optimism but nothing concrete as usual with ZC.. what is of interest is that South Africa are helping us with our qualifiers bid.. I wonder what exactly they will provide.

Re: any news of taylor or jarvis comeback!
Will Zimbabwe be able to beat Afghanistan with them, and avoid losing to NED & SCO?
Re: any news of taylor or jarvis comeback!
Zimbabwe is a stronger team with KJ and BRMT available for selection.
I'm not sure if we will be able to beat Afghanistan again, Rashid Khan is a superstar and the best players in the world can barely deal with him.

Jarvis is still under contract and with his age, there may be a good chance to get him this time next year in 2018.
I suspect Taylor may not get a new contract due to his age and performance and thus he should be likely to come in this year.

Taylor's done very very good in white ball cricket. Ok the stats may not show him averaging 50+, but he's scored big in the games that matter, and as we all know, cricket is one hell of a fickle game. His employers, when they sit down to discuss his future at the club, will remember those good knocks

Ok I understand Ed Byrom and the other pacer who plays for Surrey 2nd XI cant return but whats the issue with other players who are playing club cricket? What do they get from playing in club cricket apart from few bucks? Better option would be to stay in Zimbabwe and play international cricket which they for sure can

Well thats bad news for ZIM fans and people who want to see play their best XI. Jarvis has killed it at red ball and yet Jaybro was of the opinion he might fall down the depth charts. At Taylor's age, I would feel a younger player who could match or exceed Taylor's runs would make more sense in the long run.sloandog wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2017 10:32 pmKriterion_BD wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2017 9:32 pmJarvis is still under contract and with his age, there may be a good chance to get him this time next year in 2018.

From what I know they definitely want him to stay but not as an international. its not about him not getting a contract. its up to him really. the only thing we have on him is his family to be honest but that drives most men. what I don't know is whether winning the 2 limited overs trophies is enough for him or whether it will actually motivate him to stay. I do feel he has more reasons than Jarvis. I mean look at his twitter, he never changed that pic from his last game. we hold a special place in his heart and I think he feels we might be on the verge of a comeback which he could greatly contribute to.
as for Jarvis deep down I just feel like he is going to turn us down. especially if we don't make the world cup. I doubt he will leave this year.

They are in currently as Kolpaks. How many Kolpak slots does each county get. And what exactly is the difference between "international" vs "kolpak"? My understanding was that international was either very limited or much tougher to get. Why can't they get the international stints that Indian/Sri Lankan players get on a season by season basis? I'm sure a county would pick them up each year. Is it it because of job security?TapsC wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2017 11:21 pmFrom what I know they definitely want him to stay but not as an international. its not about him not getting a contract. its up to him really. the only thing we have on him is his family to be honest but that drives most men. what I don't know is whether winning the 2 limited overs trophies is enough for him or whether it will actually motivate him to stay.
