I don’t understand the argument that Zimbabwe needed to chose from picking BT or Byrom??

Why can’t we have both ??

I think people should chill a little bit regarding Byrom. The kid's just cracked the county system yes, but this doesn't make him a batsmen of international quality. Lets just wait and see how he goes next summer.

Nick Welch is somebody I think Zimbabwe Cricket needs to target.

He appears to be able to clear the ropes, which is something we are missing even in our domestic set up. The only names who spring to mind that can clear the ropes comfortably are Moor, the Waller sisters, Hammi and maybe Chigumbura on his day.
The first three names are massively inconsistent with the bat, mind. Welch seems to have an air of class about him which we so desperately need up top.

Malcolm Lake is somebody else I wouldn't mind getting in the mix! Or Brad Evans! Evans with the new pip.
Not sure if I posted this but a mate of mine faced him this summer, said he was by far the quickest in that league. Said he took a while to warm up but really slipped himself as he got into a rhythm. Googly might be able to shed more light on Evans but the lad who faced him said he was easily in the early 80's Mph bracket. Not sure what his situation currently is though

Nobody is saying that he will come in and get his cap right away. It is about getting him back now, before it is too late. He'll probably go so well next summer that he has his name doing rounds for the Lions squad. What then?

I agree we can target Welch too. But as jaybro said, why Taylor OR Byrom OR Welch? Why not Byrom AND Welch AND Chavanga AND Gilmour AND ...

Mukhulani and Co. have made us dream again :D

Oops, spelling slip up. I accidentally contributed to the fictitious XI. I meant Tanaka Chivanga, who came from SA last year and was supposed to play in the Logan Cup, but no news of him afterwards.

Some references:

Looks like a good fast bowling prospect. Hope he plays the Logan Cup this time around.

I don't know if that was intentional or not but I burst out laughing when I read it.
