Rubel Hossain despite having a FC bowling average close to 60 is still being persisted in Tests..!!!
Any particular reasons for it??

He's in the ODI team and the BCB usually likes to pick the same squad for Tests and ODIs on away tours probably to save a few bucks on travel expenses. There is no other explanation for it.

Honestly, this is very rich coming from a Zimbabwean supporter.
Probably the same resong they persisted with Cremer until he got his average down to a menacing 50.
Robiul Islam averages 40, but he once ripped into Zimbabwe, so much that only Elton the ZImbabwean who has zero respect for any bowler could handle him. In fact, Bangladesh's best batsmen couldn't handle his bowling either.

But anyway With the horrible averages of Cremer, Raza and Williams, no Zimbabwean or ZIM supporter should have a right to question other bowlers' averages ... unless they are repulsed by such junk being termed fronline bowling.

Cremer averages half of what Rubel averages...what are you on about? And Cremer looks like has all the tools to improve. Rubel only has a transient ability to reverse swing the ball.pariah wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2017 7:01 pmHonestly, this is very rich coming from a Zimbabwean supporter.

Bangladesh were utterly hopeless. What a waste of my time(I suppose Bavuma not cashing in made it worse).Kriterion_BD wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2017 11:46 amBut yeah I'd still take Taskin ahead of Rubel, and all the BD fans wanted Roy and he's being exposed now. I suspect, apart from Fizz none of these fast bowlers will be selected for the next series, but then again, that would make too much sense.
This side have probably been the worst tourists in SA's Test history.
I was infuriated when Sri Lanka were scoring runs with absolute ease in Zimbabwe last year, but I think Bangladesh's attack has eclipsed that. One could argue that SA batsmen are better than the SL batsmen who went to ZIM, but if SA really wanted to, they could have scored over 1000 runs in the first innings of the previous Test and this current one.
I expect 800-odd declared by mid-third session tomorrow.

First of all, Cremer averages 48, and Robiul 78. Double would be 96. Secondly, until that one-off Test against SL, Cremer averaged 52 i.e. Cremer AVERAGED DOUBLED Tinashe Panyangara!Kriterion_BD wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2017 7:08 pmCremer averages half of what Rubel averages...what are you on about? Of course Zimbabwe play West Indies next, and Cremer average 100+ against them. So it's not a matter of can improve against them, but he should. What's inevitable is that his average will get worse in that one-off Test against SA - especially if it's a 4-day Test and in PE when quick runs might be required. More so if he bowls as much as he did against SL. In his case let's wait until 2018 Tests. He might have a Rubel looking average by then.
My point is ZImbabweans should point fingers at other teams' averages. Raza averages 91 in Tests(44 in ODIs), while Williams averages 55 in Tests (50 in ODIs). Guys here bravely factor them into their XIs as bowlers. How do you tolerate Raza bowling but question Bangladesh's Rubel?
At least Rubel has an excuse, he's a Bangladeshi seamer, plus he predominantly bowls in the sub-continent! Zimbabwe's "spinners" bowl at Queens Sports Club in Chittagong.

Well Cremer has all the raw tools a wrist spinner needs. He can turn the ball, has a well disguised googly, and can bowl wicket taking deliveries. He just lacks the consistency to deliver 6 accurate balls. Wrist spin is probably the most difficult art.
Regardless an average of 48 is much better than one of 78.

SO what raw tools does 91 avergae Raza have? You trust him to bowl and include him in your XIs as a primary bowlign option?Kriterion_BD wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2017 12:17 amWell Cremer has all the raw tools a wrist spinner needs. Raza's raw tools are that he is (by my assessment) currently Zimbabwe's 3rd best batsman behind Taylor and Ervine. In ODIs Mire would take that spot. Raza is very much a batsman who can bowl some overs to give someone a breather. His 91 average is irrelevant because he sole job is to score runs.

Hhm only talks numbers when it suits him
He didn’t want to respond to me when I pointed out how there was no other player suitable to replace Sean Williams and when I compared Utseya’s numbers to the hopeless Cremer, Williams & Raza he also was silent when the figures showed Utseya to be inferior
