The captains who have not used him intelligently are Taylor and Cremer. The coach who has not insisted on his use is Heath Streak.

Correction. Taylor and Cremer have Hami most excellently, and the stats prove it.jaybro wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2017 8:13 amMore proof of white bashing how long does this continue ??pariah wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2017 7:50 amWhy must you look at other countries? Chari just doesn't have what it takes in my opinion. Time to try others like Kasuza or Kaia. Musakanda needs to working on his defence. He clearly only knows how to play one way.
Re: [Match Thread] West Indians vs Zimbabwe A
There is a reason why most sides debut players at 6, and they go on to do well. Think Shafiq for PAK, and even Elgar for SA.
Because in ZIM the senior players are protected so much from facing the heat - even at FC level, it's the new young batsmen who suffer unfairly.
Kasuza, Chari, Musakanda, Innocent Kaia etc are all excellent batsmen. ZIM simply can't afford to ignore them. Let them bat 4/5 at domestic and 6 at Full International/A level. Gumbie opening the batting for Eagles is tragic.
It's no accident that Mutumbami and Maruma have been dominant at FC level batting that low. Even Mutombodzi will continue to look superior to these new young batsmen precisely because of his generous batting position.
Some players are brilliant enough to do well there. Those are the really top players, naturally with the tools and temperament to not sink easily e.g. Renshaw and Brathwaite.
In fairness, ZIM has been producing strokemakers, than it has been producing Mawoyos, Duffins and Grippers. Let them flourish in the middle with proper straight classy strokes, not cross-batted aggression and graceless flicks and nudges like some options.
Statistically there's a greater chance of a Gupo having a higher average opening the batting than say a Musakanda. And guess what, he can keep too!
#Gupomania!
Burl (like Murray) have had so much u19 exposure. More than any other batsman. Burl has also had a fair amount of A/XI games, plus Rising Stars and also picked for international cricket. After so much investment, how they haven't figured out if he's going to be a top or middle order batsman is a waste. At the very least they should have identified that he has characteristics of an opener. Byron's County side have picked that up about him and are developing him accordingly(ECB screwed Ballance against all common sense. Surely between 4-7 they could have found a spot for him alongside Root, Bairstow and Stokes. Except with both Ali and Woakes in the XI as well, the argument can also be made that none of those 3 should be batting lower than 6, so Ballance gets 3 or towels).

Chibhabha seems to be doing okay. He has always been a been player of seam bowling. Guessing he will open with Hammy.

You cursed him
Burl is not doing too good.
Edit: Damn, I shouldn't have winked.

Big pressure moment for Moor. Musakanda and Burl added nothing, Moor has to score heavily here to prove that he is the pick of the next generation of batsmen.
This is where some classic Mawoyo-esque Zimbabwean grit is required. Grind out 80 from 200 balls.
Re: [Match Thread] West Indians vs Zimbabwe A
If Mawoyo is fit he should just come back and do the job. No one else seems capable all our good batsman hiding away in the middle order.
