Goodness. What on earth was Williams doing there? That is totally unacceptable. We might as well have played Chisoro if he is going to be batting like that. Shocking...

I guess my former favorite Sean Williams really is fickle minded and an unmitigated idiot. No doubt about that now. Gets worked up for everything and doesn't turn that "passion" into any good.

Not fit for Test cricket, find a replacement already!

What has happened to Williams' batting? Hopefully a one off game bad game with the bat.

Ffs this is one game. Scored runs in the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

A couple of years later and nothing has changed - the only chance we have is a Taylor special.

But this is test cricket. Big difference, that is not acceptable being one of the senior players and knowing what's at stake 5 minutes before tea. There is no other way of looking at it. If it comes off fine, indefensible if it doesn't.

In terms of brain-fades Willow must be up there with the very best. Having had more opportunities over the last few years he's now way ahead of Vusi.

Tactics from here?

Chakabva, Waller still to come.

I advocated for Chakabva getting the chance at a long innings earlier in the game, but given the hopelessness of the match situation I've got a new idea. Bunker down.

The way out of this is some good old fashioned grind-it-out Test cricket. Taylor can bat long, we know that. I get the feeling Raza could knuckle down and play out 300 balls at a strike rate of 10 if he pretended he was playing AB de Villiers in the movie adaptation of "Adelaide Oval". He strikes me as a method actor.

But providing one of those situations doesn't play out, I'd send in Cremer next. He's one of those take-it-upon-yourself type cricketers that I admire. I reckon he could provide an innings of substance with his good mate and fellow Test centurion BT at the other end.
