Recall Vusi Sibanda to the Test side
Re: Recall Vusi Sibanda to the Test side
Burl has an average that is double Chari's. Of course Hhm doesn't rate him.
Re: Recall Vusi Sibanda to the Test side
I do rate Burl.
But I made the argument here a long time agao and I even applied it to Chari as well. I qeustioned why all these players should be making their debuts ahead of Kasuza, Mutombodzi, Maruma etc who have scored plenty runs in ZIM's FC competition.
The problem here is that these new players continue to get picked and get chances when they have no experience.
You guys probably think somehow a Burl will go in and do better than a Dion Ebrahim, Neil Ferreira, Gavin Ewing and Terence Duffin etc while he has little experience in comparison.
The comments a lot of the Aussie, Indian and English fans on this forum make of Zimbabwe and it's players they would never reason that way where their countries are concerned.
Burl is nowhere near the level of Vusi or Mawoyo for that matter. Definitely not a Test level.
But if it's ok for RS to be FC, then I guess anything is possible.

Re: Recall Vusi Sibanda to the Test side
You're saying that but the kid hasn't even played a test match yet. How can you make such a judgment?
Sibanda had all the talent in the world (and all the time!) to make his mark on international cricket and he failed to do so, as his stats suggest. Nobody here will ever doubt that Sibanda was one of the most gifted stroke players in the country, but what is the point in having all the ability if you can't translate it into results.
After just 30 innings Ryan Burl averages in excess of 40 while Sibanda has a 33 average over a long period of time.
Burl's career is just beginning and he's still very very young. To write him off because he had a few failures in his limited opportunities is ridiculous. If you're writing Burl off then Sibanda may as well be written off too, because he didn't fair all that better against the associates neither.
Maruma's batting average is even worse than Sibanda's. 16 innings with a best of 32 at an average of 9. Why on earth would he, and should he, be considered for national selection. He no longer bowls and he hasn't exactly lit the FC scene alight.

Vusi scored a century against Bermuda a long while back

Re: Recall Vusi Sibanda to the Test side
What proper bowlers has Sibanda faced in FC cricket?? Not many, and yet he still got a shot at international cricket! Don't blame the batters for having to face below par bowlers. They can only face what comes down at them.
Burl scored heavily against Bangladesh A a couple of years ago, but again the kid's still young and hasn't been given the necessary exposure of top quality bowlers yet, but one thing is there which will allow him to succeed; the talent and ability

Either you're being too smart for your own good or you're just thick..
I'll say it again Hhm, he's not had the opportunity to face any bowlers of class because he's just started his career based in Zimbabwe. He's faced all the same bowlers that your beloved Maruma and Chigumbura has faced, in which case he has superior stats. He's faced Jarvis, Madziva, Jongwe, Mumba, basically the best we can offer. What do you expect from him when he hasn't even had the opportunity yet to face any serious pace.
He scored heavily against a strong Bangladesh A side in 2015.

Wrong. Very wrong!!! They've faced plenty top bowlers. You forget Maruma has played plenty games for ZIM A/XI/Chairman/President/Tour etc over the years. He's faced all the same bowlers that your beloved Maruma and Chigumbura has faced
Re: Recall Vusi Sibanda to the Test side
And he has lost his wicket cheaply over and over again
