Now that we have seen that the 8-3 composition has failed to get us wins when we have been in match winning positions....Waht do you guys think..do we persist with the 8-3 or go forward with a 7-4. If yes what would be your XI going forward for SA?
My XI:
1) Hamilton Masakadza
2) Peter Moor
3) Craig Ervine
4) Brendan Taylor
5) Sikandar Raza
6) Regis Chakabva(WK)
7) Sean Williams
8) William Mashinge (To provide batting depth and seam bowling option)
9) Graeme Cremer
10) Tendai Chatara
11) Kyle Jarvis
Future team composition (7-4 or 8-3)
Re: Future team composition (7-4 or 8-3)
8-3 is ok if the three are Jarvis, Chatara & Cremer
and Williams, Raza and Mire are in the side as well.
Those 6 are more useful than adding in Tiripano or Chisoro.
If we are anywhere greenish though we have to play 7-4 and include the best of the youngsters as a third seamer.

If Zimbabwe play three seamers, I would like to see one of the young guys. Ngarava and Murzarabani spring to mind, or possibly even Mashinge as he is also genuinely promising with the bat.

Check yoselves befkre you wreck yo selves !
We are really going in at 8/5 as Williams and Raza have clearly proven themselves to be frontline spinners by zim I standards.
I would personally do;
Hammy
Burl/mawoyo/mire
Ervine
Taylor
Moor
Raza
Williams
Regis/mire
Cremer
Jarvis
Chatara

Re: Future team composition (7-4 or 8-3)
The problem with Shane Warne is that he made it very easy for Aussies to have opinions about spinners. That for me is the tragedy about ZCF
Re: Future team composition (7-4 or 8-3)
i think people should consider Mehidy Hasan of Bangladesh against SA.
He had a pitch that was friendly to spin by the way.
I think way too much value is being placed on average WI batsmen and their tail to be honest.

Re: Future team composition (7-4 or 8-3)
7-4 is the way to go, unless we are playing in Guyana.
