This is why it didnt make sense for the selectors to announce so quickly that Burl and Vitori are in the squad without watching what actually happens here first.

The big question is whether the selectors would take a risk on a hit or miss player in such crucial world cup qualifiers.

He should be in the UAE if they were thinking about picking him. Far too bigger risk to pick him for the qualifiers without some time in the side.
He should be on the plane with Vitori. For me, Waller's place as the lower-order hitter is up for grabs anyway.
I'd prefer to utilize him up top, to be perfectly honest.
Give him free reign and say go for it!
I think its too late for the qualifiers, if he is not in the UAE i cannot see him in the squad for March.

I agree if he is picked he has to be used up front, not sure if there is room for both him and Mire in the same ODI side, T20 side maybe.....

Yeah, just saw the score board. Now I'm fully on the Cephas bandwagon, especially with the qualifiers in mind. He can bully the lower ranked teams. NRR. He can be a replacement up top if Mire continues to struggle. Mire can come down the order too at Waller's place for lower order hitting like Chigs.

He must be taken to UAE. NOW!

Goodness me! Someone call up Taibu and show him the carnage that is going on! He can also get to know about the quality of hitting by following the Cricinfo descriptive commentary.

This is a massive gamble, but well worth it, based on the other gambles they have taken of late.
15.2 6 Gondaria to Zhuwao, SIX, and its out of here. Nearly hits a passing car , tossed, on off, whacks it over the cover fence to the nearby road. Maximum

Taibu only recognises hundreds and 5 wickets hauls according to one of his past twitter posts

If this is the case zhuwayo has passed that criteria

I saw that as well.

Time to give this man a chance up top.
He's clearly worked at his game massively.

Loving the commentary on cricinfo haha. Cephas should be sent to UAE now, in full agreement! Don’t waste time with Ngarava, he will just let us down I feel. I still feel we’d do ay better playing Chisoro with Cremer

Kenya aren’t a bad side either, they have a few decent players that were on display when they were smashing the SA provinces in the Africa Cup.

I think that part of the thinking behind the 3 pacers strategy is that is what they are planning to use for the qualifiers and are trying to build that combination.

I'm sure they would have played Chisoro if the qualifiers were not around the corner. Will be interesting to see the combinations they go for in the UAE.

Burl and Musakanda, our future, cannot be getting out like this. This was a chance to just calmly guide the team home with a couple of undefeated scores. Scary to think that these are the two best guys we have for the next generation.
