Put your dummy back in

Post by sloandog »

http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/ ... er-matches

Mohammed Shazad's actions have landed him in hot water, and now has essentially left his country without a wicket keeper and opening batter.

Unlucky Afghanistan.

Plus the '16' year 30 year old launches a ball back dangerously. Talk about spitting your dummy out when it doesn't go your own way

Bit harsh about Shahzad but he should have known better. Should have slammed his bat into his pad. But might be a good thing...his form was poor. Granted he's a hack, but scoring at a strike rate of 60-70 and only averaging 30 is poor stuff. Also good thing that Stanikzai is out for the tournament.

The Afghans are quickly building a rep of being major sooks , so glad we beat them when it mattered .

this could backfire if they finish 4th.
Unless we slam the other games so its irrelevant.

The best thing for us is if we get a nuffbag team into the super six that wont threaten for a spot but doesnt affect our points. but someone still capable of a win against one or two of the others

Would be good to see HK or Nepal go through instead of Afghanistan.

Afghanistan will certainly qualify beating Nepal & Hong Kong, two sides are much weak.

Shahzad's punishment is long overdue. He is one of the nastiest sledgers in the game, and as so often happens umpires have generally let him get away with it.

No we need Afghanistan to qualify. They are capable of beating any team in this tournament. The ideal scenario is that the West Indies go unbeaten and Afghanistan knock over the Dutch and Ireland. That would be ideal for us.

Then the points we took forward dont qualify.

If we clean sweep the qualifiers its no a huge issue, but their presence may be capable of taking some of our competitors out, and i dont think they will win every game herein which is what they need to do so like how a tapeworm can assist in weight loss, these paraistes may assist in clearing the path for us.
