Thanks. Indeed a good read.
We really need results on the field now.

I'll hold my judgement for the next few years, I don't want to be a negative nelly and say 'They're all crooks they'll find a way to steal the cash' but I'll be pleasantly surprised if ZC is debt clear by 2023.
It was a good read and there is an interview with the chairman doing the rounds also, but I would have liked to have heard what their plan is for the future?? Securing the cash and getting us out of debt is great but the game is in such poor state how do they plan to turn it around?
I'd like to hear how ZC is planning on being competitive once the 02-06 class retire.

Great article but I think it's Tristan Holme who has written it Liam works for Cricinfo while Tristan works for cricbuzz
Re: Liam Brickhill article- good read.
The steps taken to at least get the debt to the centre of the discussion are good.
Even with all the other feelings and desire for total change, the fact that the debt is central to ICC discussions is a major step forward.

With Ireland and Afghanistan now in the mix and with both of them having better structures, pathways and results we are under real pressure to not only perform, but to also get cricket up and running at every level. We get given more money than them and do absolutely nothing with it other than pay back the magnanimous Bvute and keep the fat cats in the manner to which they’ve become accustomed.
So far ZC’s plan is to fire everyone and reduce the number of employees across the board. Wow, that’s a stroke of managerial genius!
They are terrified to announce any real plans because they know they don’t have the skills to implement and more specifically to sustain them. That’s what I see time and again- some fancy plan that fizzles out after a couple of months. We need to spend money on age group cricket, on an academy, on U19 etc etc.
I think their only plan is to drag this out for as long as possible for all the wrong reasons.
The only hope of salvation is to get rid of these guys, they’re not saving us.

But to be fair Googly, you have been calling for the culling of the bloated staff.

I think we need to just sit and reflect on it all. See all sides.
Re: Liam Brickhill article- good read.
I’m just saying it’s their only plan, if they have another it’s a closely guarded secret. They can only be taken seriously when there’s half a dozen admin staff max, and proper coaches, an academy, age group cricket, u19, proper club and franchise, T20 etc etc. It’s a long list of stuff that needs to be done urgently.
