After this game, Zimbabwe will be tied with Sri Lanka in 2nd place for playing the most ODIs since the last WC and just 1 game behind England.

Apparently ZIM have lost 9 straight ODIs...how do they still have an ODI rating of 53? How high was there rating before this streak???

Wow I can’t believe Zimbabwe have played so many ODI’s !!! I always felt they don’t play enough, guess that throws that argument out the window

Murray for Moor / Chigs hopefully today...

We are visiting the subcontinent twice in the next 6 months. Once vs BD and once vs India in March. ZC must plan a visit to Nepal on both the trips and get a few wins under the belt. 3 matches on each visit would be ideal. This losing streak has no indications of stopping otherwise.

Yeah ODIs played since the last World Cup

1) England 72
2) Sri Lanka 71
3) Zimbabwe 70

By comparison Afghanistan have played 55 ODIs (9th) and Bangladesh and West Indies are tied for 10th with 49 games each.

ZIM however, hardly play any Tests: http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine ... ;type=team

Since their return in 2011, ZIM have only played 22 Tests. By comparison Bangladesh have played 40 and England have played 91.

This is true. We play more games than we actually think. The whole not enough game time argument is actually not valid. Its just that its clustered game time.

Ya it’s a big surprise for me as well. I guess it goes back to the quality of our FC set-up as to what they do in their down time to stay sharp. It also begs the question why these guys aren’t making more runs against our domestic bowlers. I’m watching the highlights now, we look ok until we go out
Our cricketing public have a lot to say and there’s not a lot of knowledge. There’s a post on a ZC FB page (but it’s not their official one, yet has a bigger following- how’s that allowed?) saying how terrified Ervine was, damned insulting. Ervine was facing fire and was right up for it, what game are these blokes watching?
Interesting that Steyn has the odd effort ball with a very marginal action, what a competitor though, one of the greats of the game.

They have to expect Tahir to bowl more googlies and straight ones than leggies. Front foot and don’t over reach. I know he’s damned good and easier said than done. That second ODI was a capitulation after an ok start. Solly will come good this next game. Let’s hope the track is of international standard, because these last two games have been poor decks.
