Has a player ever held a position in the selection panel only to be selected years later in test cricket?

Seems absurd and shows what a mess Zimbabwe cricket is, Tibba should never have retired and I think you fellas are right he regrets it.

No point bringing him back IMO the side is already too old.
Wasn't Sanath Jayasuriya selector/sports minister/player all at the same time
But then again SL was voted the most corrupt board
Is the Sri Lanka board really corrupt as well??

The ICC said a few weeks ago that SL were the most corrupt board, even more so than ZC.

3 catches but a failure with the bat for Taibu in the first innings of the latest outing (out for 13). Not sure he'll get a chance to bat again in this match. Why are the Lankans playing 3 day FC matches instead of 4? Most matches are ending in draws...

Taibu has added 2 more catches and A WICKET to his kitty in the second dig!

EDIT: Taibu got 3 wickets in the end. Reaches the milestone of 25 FC wickets with that - of which 8 have come in a single innings. 8/43 being his best figures long ago...

Another unconverted start for Taibu today. 45. A total of 256 runs at 28.44 in 9 innings so far.

I wouldn’t mind a comeback plan for him if we had the World Cup to look forward too, in other words, a short term premier event, but at 35, there’s no use and it’s hust wasting time that s young guy can be developed. Even if he was in form, there will be a point around 37 where his athleticism completely goes on him.

The exception to this was he dominates the scene with a 50 average thereabouts, but let’s be honest, he was never that great with the bat at his peak. Only equal to a Williams, Raza.

So Taibu did not bat in the second dig at all. Could be some injury?

Latest tally since comeback (not sure why I'm keeping track of this so religiously though) :

Matches: 6
Innings: 9
Runs: 256
Catches: 16
Stumpings 1
Wickets: 3
