Honestly a 70 IQ child can organize a live feed. WTF is wrong with everybody!!
The funny thing is the ZC twitter account has the letters TV in its name and their first update of the match was the UAE starting XI, which they posted when the UAE were all out. A whole innings went and they gave absolutely no update.

Where the heck was that UAE batting a year ago? I think the sentiment is true with everyone. It still hurts so so so much.

On a side note. I really like PJ as a captain. He was active in the field. He was at mid off and always in contact with his bowlers and talking to them. Assessing the field all the time. Doing the right things.

If ZC decides it's time to stop being terrible people, we have a pretty ok future. PJ Moor is captaining pretty well, we have a few good prospects for the future (Kamunhukamwe, Burl, Murray, Madhevere) and if we can get the old guard of BT, Raza, Williams and co to blast out some good big knocks for a year or two, the next World T20 could be pretty good for us!

Watching Ervine batting beautifully in his normal batting position. He was batting at 7 in that other awful game

Good result in the end. Good to see Ervine back and scoring runs! Well done to the bowlers too.

Well we will probably win this 4-0. We are humiliating them at the moment. Couldn’t have done this a year ago? I know DL screwed us but it’s still fresh for me and stings just as much now as it did then. We have indeed, lost so much due to it.
Yeah sad isn’t it. Choked at the worst possible time.
I think there were two factors about that qualifying tournament that are generally overlooked. Firstly, there has been a massive improvement in the standard of play in the associate nations, and secondly, in the final match, UAE had been knocked out, the pressure was off them and they played out of their skins. Today, with a new series to play, a rare situation for them, they were under pressure and they wilted when Zimbabwe played so well.

Ya agreed. I think that was possibly a good toss to win though, although that was a big loss for UAE today they can still play freely, we’re the ones that should be feeling the pressure.

Hate to go back and dissect that match last year but imo it was the ‘perfect storm’ and everything fell into place for the UAE and nothing worked for Zimbabwe

The rain was the biggest factor, firstly because Zimbabwe knew a washout would knock them out they totally went away from their game plan of batting first because they wanted to finish the game quickly.

You could also see that in their bowling as Chatara especially was off his game bowling too short or full on a deck that suited stroke play, the UAE got a good start then Rameez Shazhad played a great innings (missing from this series).

Even after Zimbabwe pulled the score back with some wickets once the rain started the umpires left them out for another couple of overs where Naveed took their score from being just over 200 to over 230, this would be a major factor in end.

The D/L made it a tough chase but the loss of 3 early wickets really put Zimbabwe on the back foot, the loss of early wickets made scoring slow early so the need to ‘up the anti’ forced ‘slow starter’ Ervine to keep shuffling down the order.

Even once Williams & Raza seemed to have things under control a couple of good catches turns the game, the UAE fielded unreal that day. Leaving Ervine to hit the winning runs the last two overs were bowled superbly by the UAE and Zim fell short.

As John said the pressure was all on Zimbabwe and none on the UAE and when you’re under pressure you should always bat first which would happened if not for the rain. I’m confident if not for the rain Zimbabwe could have just concentrated on their game plan that had worked so well throughout the tournament.

As I said it was the perfect storm

As for the result pretty emphatic performance the game was never in doubt, I feel it was a bit of a waste opening with Regis, is that really an option going forward? Interesting to see if Zimbabwe won the toss will they choose to bat first or continue to bowl ?
