Suspension of the board

Post by Mueddie28 »

Suspension of the ZC board by SRC might kill cricket in Zimbabwe
While the recent defeats by Holland might trigger support for the suspension....
ICC the cricket governing body might think otherwise because gvt interference is forbidden
Zimbabwe cricket is a ridiculous

After our recent performances an ICC ban might be the ultimate act of mercy.

Seeing a few on Twitter talking about how it is a sad day for ZC and suspending the board is a bad thing

Hopefully the ICC have a backbone and look at the performances against Netherlands and realise that change is needed.

Hopefully a new board can persuade some youngsters aboard to come and play for Zimbabwe
They might be able to get Taibu and (Grant Flower if available in the national team steup)

David Ellman-Brown, Ahmed Ibrahim, Charlie Robertson, Cyprian Mandenge, Robertson Chinyengetere, Sekesai Nhokwara and Duncan Frost have been announced as an interim committee to run cricket in the country.

While Ellman-Brown is a highly respected former board chief executive and Ibrahim a former board vice-chairman and ICC match referee, the others in the interim committee also have extensive experience in either sports administration or as professional cricketers or umpires themselves.

The SRC's move came a week after it issued a directive that ZC's elective annual general meeting be suspended, alleging complaints about the nomination process and the violation of ZC's constitution, as well as "various other controversies".
