I recall the Zimbabwe national soccer team not being able to play the FIFA World Cup qualifiers over something very silly, because they too reasoned like stubborn halfwits around Kirsty Coventry.

Like ZIFA, I think Zimbabwe cricketers must focus on being punchbags of South African Provinces in the Africa Cup

But the truth is we're finished anyway unless there's a complete and absolute turnaround. I say it a bit, but we lost to Netherlands and Ireland comprehensively. It wasn't even close. And that was with a full strength team. Cricket is as good as dead right now.

So the SRC have to stay the course. Maybe the only way to fix cricket is to let it die. Once the ICC money has dried up, all of the people who are involved in cricket only for the pay cheque will bugger off and people who genuinely care about the game can start the rebuilding process.
Zimbawe cricekt has already died once when teenagers and raw talent was thrust onto the international spotlight. It lived because they had:
1. high quality international cricket to look forward to;
2. a bunch of young cricketers who were motivated to play at the highest level (not Intercontinental Cup or below that level).

Should Zimbawe be expelled in October it will die a permanent death with no hope of resuscitation.

no matter how much talent Zimbabwe gets back, the ICC will not break its rules to allow Zimbawe to rejoin at the higher levels.

Zimbabwe will simply apply to be an Associate Member and start from the bottom up.

Someone needs to get that to sinkk into the heads of Kirsty and Mlotshwa asap!

I don't see the likes of Byrom, Higgins, Welch etc even thinking twice about such levels so you can forget it. School kids won't even bother with cricket. They'll just flock to rugby and tour the world with the Sevens or battle it out with Namibia and Kenya for the XVs RWC.

Sadly there’s going to have to be a compromise somewhere.
Thats why I predict an interim board with Mukuhlani in it for at least a year before they hold clean elections and kick him out.

The SRC response is clear lawyer talk guys. Believe them at your own risk guys. There is no solution that kicks out the board immediately. That is a day dream. Its so clear cut. Everything else is hopeless wishing. They will sit down and talk eventually.

If the SRC believes we can get expelled then they reapply and still get full member status they are in for the shock of their lives. I personally dont want to see cricket to die.

What would be useful is for these ZC guys to see how universally unpopular they are. Not just here but around the world. They have about 20 supporters here in zim and about 5 in the rest of the world who happen to be voting against SRC at ICC.

We need a poll in Zim to see what people think of them.
Not a poll whether we should allow them to continue to save the game but a confidence vote.

This is common sense. The only common sense.

Why it's even debatable or up for question is beyond me. Or better yet, why that was never thought of to begin with before any of the silly manouvres were attempted is an even bigger mystery to me.

From what I'm picking up in the forum so far, some members here were part of this ill-thought of exercise, and actually pat their backs over it when it pulled through!

Taps what you’re missing is that it’s mostly dead already. To try and keep it on life support is delaying the inevitable. That’s the Gods honest truth.
Say SRC roll over, then what? Absolutely nothing will change. These guys have no plan, they don’t know a thing about cricket or it’s administration. The proof is there for all to see. They only want the money.
No one wants us to go but this guy and his cronies are holding us to ransom, it’s not the other way around.
He says it’s a hobby ffs, so then leave coz it can’t be fun and you’re really shit at it and everybody hates you.

If England, Australia or NZ cricket was in this predicament the board would just step aside.
Not so much the other countries, it’s third world stuff where the money is the big incentive.

I’m not advocating SRC bury us, but if they’ve got an ace they need to play it now.

It’s because the cricket gets worse by the month. Where are we going under these guys? They have no plans that they can stick to for more than a week. Everything is a mess and it will never ever change under them.
Their plan to save money is not to play cricket. It’s pure genius.

I think the SRC response pretty much sums up that Zimbabwe cricket will be expelled. Clearly it's a personal battle taken too far. At least for a neutral like me, it's obvious that this is a personal battle. I'm not clouded by preconceived notions.

Never thought it will end this quickly. Bye bye Zimbabwe cricket. At least I as a cricket fan will surely miss you.
