Mire always wanted to open, as did Burl. Not sure where this encore chap gets his info.

His claim is that some get to choose where they bat and others don’t.

"Would have been pointless to make it an all-time list because Hami would have been so far down in it"

"Musakanda has never opened for Zimbabwe"

"Mire - who batted low in the order early FC-List A domestic and for ZIM A/XI before he left for Australia, then batted low for ZIM when he came back and before he left - retired because he wasn't allowed to open the batting as per his preference"

"Vusi - who did better batting lower, and almost always batted lower 3/4 whenever he captained his Franchise and ZIM A/XI - wanted to always open the batting because he expressed his likeness for the challenge of a hard new ball"

"Burl - who batted in the middle order for the u19s then got to bat in the top order for the Eagles, was denied a chance to continue to open for the Eagles while Moor was not, and threw a fit. Moor went to the Rhinos where he is captain and ... is being denied a chance to open the batting."

"As ZIM captain Hami opened because he wanted to despite his average worsening, and as captain BT didn't open because that team didn't ask him too or other players wanted to open more than he did"

"encore is crazy and a troll"

I love these narratives.

We're talking up to 10 years on this now. My challenge to you, especially those of you on Twitter, go there and ask Malcolm, Sean, BT, Craig and Raza why they are not opening the batting for ZIM and the FC competitions you all call junk. I'll share screenshots of my DMs with one of them as well. I'm not a fan of lazy, loose and fictional debates which is why I always put forward facts where required.

Clearly from the quotes above, you make a lot of sense and I don't.

Why are you criticising these players because Mire and Hammy have hogged the opening roles the last few years?

I think it’s time Ervine and Moor opened the batting personally. They have avoided it a while.

Ervine at 3 is fine, but Moor could open. If he still has the gloves in tests over the other options though he should stay at 7.

Please do share...

Also, facts should always be put forward, not when required to suite narrative.
