As is usually the case for Zimbabwe, this warm up game has thrown up more selection questions rather than answers.

Mutombodzi gets a duck, I'm sure the selectors would have wanted him to bat @7 and bowl some overs

Maruma makes 34, don't think that's enough to unseat Mutombodzi's all rounder status

Mudzinganyama makes 17, needed more

Mumba makes 54!!!, surely that puts him right in the frame for selection

As for the guys who didn't play it's clear BT & Raza are being rested and will both play, but what about Nyauchi & Mpofu?? Are they both in the side so there's no reason to give them a run? Is it a shootout between Tiripano & Mumba? It would seem unlikely both are not in contention, maybe Nyauchi is in and Mpofu is out?

I guess Mpofu and Nyauchi would feature with the ball, it is anyway not 11-a-side game these days, the warm-ups.

But yeah, where are the wickets coming from in the test?

BCB XI 84-5 at lunch.

All the U-19 champions getting out cheaply.

Yah, its quite odd every one seems to be doing well with the ball perhaps its the type of opposition. All the same taking wickets will always help get the confidence up. Ndlovu doing well is very encouraging but he was always going to play all he has to do is to deliver. The question would then be hanging on the other bowlers. Mumba did well with the bat Im guessing that secures his spot. But I wouldnt be comparing him to Tiripano just yet so guessing the Don plays as well. Mutombodzi is the third spinning option, my thinking its better to have an extra spinner to turn to than none at all. So having Raza, Ndlovu and Mutombodzi we are sorted there. Now the question will be hanging on Mpofu and Nyauchi. That could be a coin toss as to who plays but Mpofu may just take the edge as he has more experience play in those conditions. The only sad thing about having these selection headaches is that the players we have are just so similar and average.

The fact Nyauchi & Tiripano aren’t bowling makes me think they’re already in the side.

Good that Ndlovu & Mutombodzi have both got a wicket or two, it’s critical that they bowl well in the Test.

Current partnership going at 6.2 an over!

Tamim 70 off 58 with 5 sixes. Wonder what the rest of the top order were doing...?

Hmm then the spinners leak runs and Nyauchi doesn't get anything. Real headache now. Don't even know who to pick
