Re: Series thread - MTN Domestic Championship
That's Sean WIlliams' maiden List A century. Shame the total score isn't going to be enough to defend, I think...

Well done to Sean Williams, now if he plays like this on a regular basis and 2 or 3 other batsman can throw the bat ........

Re: Series thread - MTN Domestic Championship
...and that's it for Zimbabwe. 218/7 (45 overs; Williams 102, Telemachus 2/39). Eagles require 219 at 4.87/over, which unless Zim can somehow manage to get some early wickets (unlikely with this attack), shouldn't be too hard for them...
Re: Series thread - MTN Domestic Championship
Get rainsford back...He adds more to the team in general than say mpofu
Re: Series thread - MTN Domestic Championship
Since when, Rainsford lacks pace. mpofu also lacks pace but his height puts him in front of rainsford in my opinion.
Re: Series thread - MTN Domestic Championship
I'd say rainsford was pretty pacy when i saw the televised series of zimbabwe vs west indies 2006....He got gayle sarwan and co hoppin around and got a few wickets too

For all that Williams took a wicket in his first innings - why in hell are he and Taibu bowling?! You can just hear Eagles saying "thank-you" for the 9+/over rates...
Do they not want to win the match or something?!

Re: Series thread - MTN Domestic Championship
Eagles get a win they really didn't deserve.
Looking at the scorecard, Mpofu appears to have been injured so they've had to draft someone else in to cover, but:
T Taibu (ob) 2.4 0 29 0 10.87
..those figures are a joke at this level. Zimbabwe had this match all but sewn up, and they've gone and handed it to Eagles on a plate. Chigumbura and Cremer both had overs to spare - they're experienced bowlers, why give the ball to the wicketkeeper?! He's a club cricket bowler, not a List A one...
Speechless. Just speechless.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh
Good effort from Ray Price, Gary Brent, Elton Chigumbura and Graeme Cremer, before his last couple of overs got caned, with the ball.
I think maehara has the right idea otherwise, speechless .......

My guess is he bowled the 4 balls of Mpofu's over, did alright, got another over, did alright, and got smashed for about 20 from his final over.maehara wrote:Eagles get a win they really didn't deserve.
