The only way we will ever achieve those big scores is if we have pure sloggers up top. Most of those guys are grafters and they overthink it. I’m honestly going with Zhuwao and Marumani uptop if it was up to me. Zhuwao getting 16 of 9 balls is better than Musakanda getting 21 off 23 deliveries then going out trying to cover the run rate gap. We will never go anywhere with that approach. Trust me.

We will be 150/160 team if we pick grafters up top. The only grafter I trust is BT because he is world class and won’t have to think about it. Once you start having to think about it in this format because you can’t clear the ropes you are in trouble. The opposition will pick it up and set the perfect field to get you out

I really don't understand the infatuation with Cephas. He has an average of 6 in ODI and 17 in T20I. He is 36 years old (so not getting younger or has the room to develop) and his performances of late have not been anything great. It's nice that he can clear the rope, but thats no help if it's only going to give you 10 or 15 runs every game, especially as an opener. If he was coming in at the back end and adding 10 or 15 off 3 balls to help close out an innings, then maybe it would be value but its kind of pointless picking a guy hoping he gets to face 5 or 6 balls to try and punish them. It's not really great too when trying to lay the platform.

He simply does not score enough consistently to warrant his place. I get that a big hitter may have an innings or two where they just don't kick on, but when its every innings, it's just wasting a spot. Marumani definitely warrants a look at based on his scores of late, and is only 19 years old.

That's what Dre Russell is effectively picked for. If a guy can come in as a floater at the end and get 15 off 6, he is very useful. That's what cephas could do but will he consistently do it? Chigumbura was good at it.

But as the bowler is running in he is standing there flailing his arms, so he doesn't have his hands in position. Then he doesn't even crouch properly, so he wouldn't really propel himself if he needs to dive at something because he would be flat footed.

Dre Russ is also a bowler who can take wickets and brings variation. Cephas does not.

Chivanga got hit for two 4s bowling outside off, so he continued to do so for the rest of the over, ended up getting hit for four 4's in the over.
