Nah - I was watching the scores live at the time, his first full over went for I think 13, and he still got brought back. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

To bring him on to finish Mpofu's over, I can understand - you don't want the regulars to be left unable to complete their set. But he shouldn't have been brought back after that.

MTN Championship
Zimbabwe vs Cape Cobras
Zim (8/220, Chigumbura 53, Kemp 4/18) lead. Cobras (0/0)
220 from 45 overs is alright... 4.88 an over, it equates to 244 in an ODI. I don't think it will be enough, considering the sort of fire power in the Cobras lineup (Kemp, for a start), but who knows. If Graeme Cremer and Ray Price bowl well in tandem... it is Harare Sports Club, hopefully home ground advantage means something.

Cobras squad (likely): Andrew Puttick, Herschelle Gibbs, Henry Davids, Justin Kemp, Stiaan van Zyl, Dominic Telo, Vernon Philander, Rory Kleinveldt, Con de Lange, Tyron Henderson, Charl Langeveldt, Paul Adams.

EDIT: Finally, Zimbabwe win! :)

Excellent result! The Cobras are a side full of experienced first class players, as well as several with a good deal of international experience as well. Obviously need to see the full scorecard, but from the Zim innings, further proof that Chigumbura is more than capable of batting at 7. Remember that he was selected regularly as a specialist batsmen last year whilst he was injured. Him being at 7 helps the balance of the team no end, as effectively 5 specialist bowlers can also be selected.

An accurate match report from the folks at SuperSport.
Zimbabwe swept to a shock 39-run victory over the Nashua Cape Cobras in their MTN domestic championship match in Harare on Sunday.
The home side scored a respectable 220 for eight and then sent the Cobras packing for 181 in 41.4 overs.

Cobras captain Justin Kemp took four for 16 in overcast, humid conditions and top-scored with 57. But support from his teammates was hard to find, and the Zimbabweans deserved their success.

The home side started well in the form of a first-wicket stand of 78 between Vusi Sibanda, who scored a careful 33 off 67 balls, and Hamilton Masakadza, whose attractive 39 came off 48 balls.

Then Elton Chigumbura held the fort with his steady 53, which he scored off 52 balls with three fours and a six.

But the home side didn't have more than bits and pieces to offer for the rest of their innings.

The biggest bit came from number seven batsman Keith Dabengwa, who clipped his 33 off 31 balls.

However, that was enough to beat a Cobras team who might just have paid the price for regarding their opponents lightly.

Kemp and Henry Davids (35) shared 53 for the fourth wicket. But that was it as far as useful partnerships were concerned, and the Cobras only other double figure scores were Andrew Puttick's 26 and two efforts of 11 by Stiaan van Zyl and Vernon Philander.

Stalwart seamer Gary Brent kept Zimbabwe on top with his haul of three for 22.
