Re: Zimbabwe Tour of Ireland / Scotland
Reports suggest that Hamilton Masakadza (Director of Cricket) has decided that Raza and Taylor will not play any T20 cricket for Zimbabwe moving forward, there effectively retiring them from the format.
From an twitter tweet. Is this the plan who hamilton made for improvement of zimbabwe cricket

What the hell is Hamilton doing. Is he trying to hasten BT retirement???

Taylor and Mazakadza have been close friends for some time. Perhaps there's two sides to this story and it isn't as black and white as it appears

Well, over the course of their very long careers there has been a couple of issues but they are on very good terms in recent years by all accounts.

I know hating on Hammy is kind of frowned upon on here, but I have never really bene his biggest fan.
He has always never stood up for the game and the team when the opportunity presented itself. He instead stood with the board.
He has made Chamu captain, when he hasn't deserved it.
He has been responsible for certain people staying in certain positions that they shouldn't.
Now he is making decisions like that that are forcing players who have given their all, and been our best, when it's not his decision to make.
I get that he has done some good things, but for me, the bad things outweigh the good.

Well I think to say the bad stuff outweighs the good is slightly off hand mate. I know where you're coming from regarding his lack of back bone when Taylor and Co out their necks on the line, but as DOC he's done some good things.
He's arranged more A tours, the FC schedule was better than it has been for almost 10 years I reckon, and he managed to convince certain lads (Curran, Welch, Snater) to make some appearances too. Then there's the selection of the national side and the youngsters being included.
There's always going to be a rogue decision (Chibahba) or a strange move (retiring Taylor), but overall the running of ZC appears to be much smoother than it usually is

yeah honestly this isnt too bad a decision and it makes a little bit of sense to transition like this. Giving Williams and Ervine match practice and chances to youngsters to bat with them seems like the right thing to do even if we do wanna see Taylor bat.sloandog wrote: ↑Sun Aug 15, 2021 3:26 pmWell I think to say the bad stuff outweighs the good is slightly off hand mate. T20 is more of a young man's game, and it's possible that with all of the big 4 in the side, having 3 35 year olds and a 34 year old, there were just too many senior citizens. Personally, I would like to see Taylor still in there. Raza I don't mind too much as he's played many T20Is but has poor figures in the format.
