Journos are now briefing that it's part of the big new 'ZC Turnaround Plan' wtf. So dropping BT & Raza for this T20 series isn't a one-off....but an apparent permanent 'strategy' going forward. Madness.

Also, again, why BT & Raza?!?! Surely Ervine and Williams are much less valuable in this format.

So apparently the big grand masterplan to 'turnaround' the fortunes of the team is to drop 2 of your best players. Also the 2 most popular players in the country. Fans will be furious if we lose the T20 series on the back of this.

Zimbabwean journalism is awful. There's so much bias and political gaming in tbeir reporting I find it pathetic. The whole heath streak situation for example. People couldn't wait to slander him, yet they fail to report on the true corruption that has been taking place for the past 20 years..laughable

Dropping BT and Raza might be rationalised, until you see Chamu saying wassup and stepping up in his place.

Why wouldn’t you keep BT as the keeper?

The strategy isn't the worst. They just picked the wrong guys to drop. Ervine and Williams makes more sense. We are also only playing this much T20 cricket because the World Cup is around the corner but if we are being honest we don't play that much T20 cricket anyway.

Hami should have rather said only 2 out of 4 of those guys can play T20s at the same time.

The crazy part is that Raza has been really poor for Zim in T20s so he actually won't be a big miss. BT is the one who should continue. Raza and Ervine might have been a balanced drop although Ervine did go crazy in the domestic T20. We saw Chakabva suddenly start smashing them everywhere. Ervine might do the same

Well I think to say the bad stuff outweighs the good is slightly off hand mate. I know where you're coming from regarding his lack of back bone when Taylor and Co out their necks on the line, but as DOC he's done some good things.

He's arranged more A tours, the FC schedule was better than it has been for almost 10 years I reckon, and he managed to convince certain lads (Curran, Welch, Snater) to make some appearances too. Then there's the selection of the national side and the youngsters being included.

There's always going to be a rogue decision (Chibahba) or a strange move (retiring Taylor), but overall the running of ZC appears to be much smoother than it usually is
I know there is merit in the A tours and FC schedule, but why I think it is outweighed is because there is no structure to them. It's all well and good arranging the tours and events, but if the players are not good enough, or the same old has beens are getting selected for the A tours, then all of them are wasted.

If he came out with a clear plan and structure, I would agree, but I don't see that. It's very much a make up as he goes along in a way. Anyone can arrange more games and tours, but if there is no clear structure to it all, it's kind of pointless.

Like that time we had our T20 franchise comp with all these big names, but then nothing ever developed from it. We can't really say that the current losses (both national and emerging sides) suggest things are on track.

I do not really mind not seeing Raza and Taylor in the upcoming T20 series against Ireland. Wes, Marumani and Myers need to play all the 5 T20s specially Maurmani who was very low on confidence against Bangladesh. Zimbabwe are not part of the ICC T20 World cup happening later this year so they can afford to give chances to these kids to grow their games before the 2022 T20 world cup that happens in Australia. We all are aware that Taylor and co will not be around for more than two to three years so with those eventualities in view, it is time to nurture these kids, Zimbabwe should not drop Marumani i do really see something in this kid, they gotta keep persisting with this kid at all cost. Even without those two senior guys the line-up looks pretty strong.

Marumani
Madhevere
Ervine
Chakabva
Williams
Myers
Burl
Wellington
Muzarabani
Ngarava
Chatara

With replacement options like Jongwe, Tiripano, Shumba and Musakanda

What the hell is Hamilton doing. Is he trying to hasten BT retirement???
What are the motives behind this. Taylor isn't a favourite is he
Most runs in T20 cricket
Hamilton 66 games 1662 runs
Sean 47 games 956 runs - often injury ridden
BT 45 games 942 runs
Conspiracy?
Out of nowhere BT was barred from playing T20 against Bangladesh...reason REST
Raza was captain for our last win in T20s but suddenly he no longer good if enough...
Conspiracy?
