If Hami is serious about uplifting our cricket then I think one of his next moves should be to get Namibia involved in our domestic setup. The bubble environment actually allows them to travel and play whilst cutting costs because its all being played in Harare on a tight schedule. They would be great addition to our setup. I am impressed.

If we cut our domestic sides to 3 and add a full strength Namibia we would actually have a strong domestic competition

We need a situation where its hard to crack the domestic teams. A lot of these guys are club level cricketers. The NPL is where they belong

I doubt they'd want to join tbh. I think you have fell in to the trap of many on this forum is underestimating Namibia just because they have 'Associate' tagged on to them. They'd whack all of our current franchises very comfortably. Don't think that would actually help our domestic guys.

They are a very serious team with a very serious budget and setup behind the scenes these days, with much higher ambitions than playing second fiddle in someones else's domestic competition. Their first XI would probably be a similar standard to our first XI in limited overs.

I guess the world cup will show us how strong they really are. I just heard the commentators saying that a lot of their guys still have jobs and are semi-pros. I wonder how big their budget actually is

Their ICC and government funding is minuscule, compared to Zim etc. But they have some big private backers and corporate sponsors ploughing money in.

What's the reason behind Mutambami getting selected every time? I mean one can even live with Maruma, Chibhabha, or Chari for whatever reasons, but never for once have I seen Mutambami perform, ever in my life. How on earth does he get selected?

Who exactly are among the coaching staff for this "emerging" team, by the way?

It's Utseya & Eric Chauluka. The U19 coaches.
